I felt like Golic expressed a disdain for arts and letters at times (I remember him deriding ppl who would stay at a hotel where Hemingway stayed and wrote a novel or something), but Greeny doesnt strike me as the most intellectual dude either. His inanities drive me more nuts than Golic's constant "I can see both sides". I'm not sure how easy Notre Dame goes on their student football players, but it's as good a school as Northwesterm. Greeny still says to guests, and cohosts, "That's actually the most reasonable thing I've heard on the issue." Which insults the person speaking (who "actually" is capable of reason) and everyone else who spoke. Such a little tool....

LJ Sneets I have met Golic during his playing days. Actually did an interview of him for the school radio station. It was during the football season and now knowing what I know, he was in some pain. He has some idiot HS kid asking him some stupid questions and he couldn’t have been nicer. Over the years listening to Golic and Greenberg he was what he was, a legit guys guy. Shame he got screwed. I always viewed Golic as the heart of that show. I'd long ago moved away from espn for the most part, but still listened to M&M, and Golic was the primary reason for that. You never know for sure, but he seemed honest and genuine. And he's the dude I'd listen to if I had to choose between the two, ten times out of ten.

One of my favorite moments on Mike & Mike was a classic. I have looked and looked for this on KZbin, but perhaps no one posted it. In the show that morning, Greeny stated a yard was longer than a meter. Golic corrected Greeny, but Greeny refused the correction. It was at this point you could see Golic's frustration and also the over confidence of Greeny. Greeny simply "knew" he was correct and the dumb jock could not be smarter in math ! They went back and forth for a bit, and Golic of course was proven to be correct. It was a classic moment in Mike & Mike history!

Mike and Mike was the only ESPN radio or TV show I really listened to or followed. I would catch the show when home on leave (I worked in Saudi as an oilfield engineer) or through the replay on (AFN) American Forces Radio out of Bahrain. I never listened to any or the other ESPN broadcasts since most were low interest or inaccessible in the Kingdom. I'd like thanks Mike Golic for his good work on Mike and Mike. I loved Mike and Mike. I enjoyed both perspectives and their professional relationship was amazing. Greenie had so many issues with his new show that by the time they were able to start it things had really changed. I got rid of ESPN by then and ultimately cable entirely. They did Golic wrong for sure but I don't blame Greenie for trying something different. He should've kept Golic in the loop at some point at least. Golic and Wingo was great for me as a transition away from the morning commentary tbh.

Actually, Greenie thought they were friends until Golic blatantly told them that they weren't friends and only work acquaintances on air, in the most uncomfortable radio I had listened to. This was when their show was on fire too.

It always seemed that Golic was a pretty decent guy, but I wouldn't trust Greenberg as far as I could throw him.
