This interview (2 of 3) explains common misconceptions and "judicial myths." How judges, therapists and Guardian ad Litems most commonly mishandle parental alienation cases. Parts 1 and 3 will describe the behaviors of the alienating parent, the behaviors of the alienating child, the type of harm caused to the alienated child, how to prove alienation, and effective remedies a court can fashion to deal with alienation.

Why are judges and lawyers and other mental help specialists not required to have training on this. Nurses have to have so many hrs of they call it continuing education credits, why does a CNA have to be required to that continuing edu classes to keep there license active but a lawyer is supposed to know the law and keep up to date on the new laws why doesn’t everyone who has anything to do with a custody case mandated to take a course on parental alienation. Why does some woman get to play stepmom to my kid and not have to take a class that could have helped in my alienated situation? Does the government know what’s going on but really not even care, because not helping people keeps shrinks and lawyers and themselves in job security. They know it messes a parent up and the kid or kids . They truly want this because the parent starts coping badly (this is an example) they start doing drugs the child starts enraging in risky behaviors and then they go to jail. All profit for them. This lawyer could implement actual change but he’s not going to either he needs his job, and values his life. Thanks for the pep talk and great advice true advice but until you stop sitting behind your desk and actually stand up for what you are saying the best interest of the children and the alienated parents you are not much better than the alienator which you speak so low of. You have to pay for me to help you get your kid back conditional . You high paid attorneys and judges and police are the ones that allow kids and parents to be robbed of their lives you color of the law people don’t serve and protect you are the root enablers to over more than half of all crimes of people

Supervised visits with alienating parent, so the interrogation and indoctrination conversations can be stopped, while the child undergoes reunification therapy, seems the best bet from all the evidence based studies and expert authored articles I’ve personally read. What a complex and GROSSLY misunderstood topic this is 😮‍💨 😔

This is so sad. Children should not have to go thru this because a parent doesn’t understand the harm or they are just selfish. Judges lawyer see this every day all day. Stop this. Child abuse. Right in front of our eyes !!!!!!

What a great series. I had a very experienced lawyer recently say that it's basically impossible to prove alienation. And thus, it's not a good legal strategy. He said you would need to be in the room when the parent is saying alienating things to the child.

Thank you for making a complicated issue, parental alienation, easy to understand from different yet critical angles. This is where, indeed, one size does not fit all.

Why it's so hard and why so many parents are going through this is because they cannot afford to fight it at all. They can pay some 300 an hour to fight for their civil rights

I had my plans to open a small business destroyed, had the money but had to spend it defending myself meanwhile having my mental health also destroyed. Even to this day, I even try to share I had those sort of aspirations leading up to everything happening...my own parent then turns around and trash talks me.

The tricky part here is not mislabeling parents who are abusive perhaps due to sever mental illness or substance abuse as parental alienation. There are times when supervised visits have been needed for my child. I wish more people were able to work with a licensed therapist as a parent coordinator with training for this rather then in court that is soo negative for everyone involved so often.

My grandchildren were alienated against their mother and we are still having a hard time and sometimes it gets worse then that .this women turned them against their mom and the children would call their mom the byword and say they hate her they would hit her kick her and smack her I've had to step in and calm this down because their mother is my daughter and they will not treat that way around me

When a mature16 yr old girl had been phsically and emotionally abused it stand to reason that they would not want to be with the abusing parent. Commom Sense. !!!

Really? It is called conditioning. Logically one would think the child would run right? What actually happens is they gravitate toward the abuser. There are countless examples of this throughout history.

If I could give in to all the demands of the alienating NCP in exchange for a judge to order for the three of us (two parents and a teenage child) to be in therapy with a highly experienced therapist (exp in alienation, manipulation, and how to handle the possibility if parent and child are skilled at this) together twice a week for six months minimum, I would lay my life down for this.

When a parent takes steps to cause estrangement, what should I do? This is the same parent who would gatekeep by inspecting my tires to ensure safety or she would see rain in the forecast and not allow access, etc. I feel like I'd rather sit back and watch her explode her own relationship. Also, can I force my kid to go to therapy? I'm okay with her doing this.

"estrangement" in Parental Alienation discussion refers to JUSTIFIED avoidance of an abusive parent. Please use "alienation" to refer to UNJUSTIFIED fear and hatred, often extending to that entire side of the family! Say NO to "child-centric" abuse allegations and judges/lawyers pimping psychology "experts," niether with appropriate training, supervision, professional guidelines, nor ACCOUNTABILITY. Keep Parental Alienation about DENIAL of Parental Rights by permitting police to enforce (immediate fines, tickets, & jail. Illinois = JAIL for 3rd denied visitation) all the ORDERS, even the tiny ones, in those Court documents in your glovebox which keep BOTH parents involved! Parental Alienation is a form of KIDNAPPING in the laws of some countries. Do not let Quacks profit off the results of your DENIED Parenting! "Why is psychology not considered a science? "Because psychology often does not meet the five basic requirements for a field to be considered scientifically rigorous: clearly defined terminology, quantifiability, highly controlled experimental conditions, reproducibility and, finally, predictability and testability.Aug 13, 2013 SOURCE: Scientific American" In my case, after my then-wife's international abduction of our children, a secret bipolar diagnosis, adultery, blaming me etc. led to divorce, she instructed them to hide Drs.' names and school ID numbers. Clearly not "abuse," and currently not enforceable in todays Courts, it laid the foundational idea "dad is subhuman, perhaps dangerous" for TEN YEARS, creating SEVERE Parental Alienation (aided by Covid Lockdown and an incompetent "secret" therapist who never talked to me but called Protective Services instead! THREE investigations with all allegations, infantile and illogical, dismissed after ONE phone interview EACH!). You can find a scholarly article from South Africa about this "epidemic" of PA during lockdown! This foundation of "secrets, fear, guilt, & shame" for TEN YEARS created this SEVERE AND HATEFUL alienation, UNJUSTIFIED, in rebellious teens, now hatefull and silent even though I won all my Parental Rights (Mediated Settlement Agreement) by identifying the huge amount of Courtroom perjury. The teens also reject my entire side of the family, evidence that should represent fairly sure, irrefutable PROOF of illogical and unjustified Parental Alienation DELUSIONS. Courts prefer to pimp psychiatry, prolonging the process which depletes your wallet WITH ARBITRARY RESULTS! Keep psychologists AWAY from your family!! ___ Pseudo-science Quacks profitting from damaged families: ___ "Dr." Amy Baker (amatuerish pamphlet "books" sold to lawyers, etc) "Dr." Richard Warschak, author of "Divorce Poison," (descriptive but useless!) promotes Family Bridges' 3 day (THREE DAYS!) Family Reunification retreats costing more than $15,000 USD, booked OVER A YEAR IN ADVANCE! Super-useless.... "Dr." Childress convinces with an analysis that instinctual parent-bonding among mammals needs extraordinary influences to become damaged, and even hatefull. Yeah, it is Parental Alienation KIDNAPPING, so address the denial of Parental Rights FIRST! Etc. etc. Keep psychiatry, and above-all, any "therapists," out of the current antagonistic Family Courts!! Parental Alienation is KIDNAPPING. Let police enforce all the minutia of ORDERS in your glovebox docs!!!

He’s yet again contradicting himself. He says that the term trauma is loosely used yet so is parental alienation. There is not in law nor hold true merits. It was created to protect abusers as a rebuttal to cover their abuse. He’s a quack.

It is loosely used, a man has to only touch a woman's head nowadays and the term "sexual abuse " is thrown a about. Same as every woman diagnosing her ex as a narcissist, which is a serious psychological condition. Totally lost its power now and no one cares when the word is used, they just think your a whiner and weak
