For all those who don't get why Simon buzzed, go back over the years and watch the really witty comics, he hardly ever gets their jokes (you often see Amanda explaining stuff to him), he isn't like the rest of us with a day to day sense of humour. I didn't think this routine was anywhere near as good as the audition, but it was funny, comics have the most difficult "job" of all on this kind of thing I think.

I think what's her name did it. She was trying to raise his hand when Marcus asked for over 40 people and then it went off after he asked under 30 but her hand was still on his arm and it cut back to markus and buzzed.

I thoroughly enjoyed Markus Birdman's audition and his semi-final appearance. While I understand that Simon is the judge, it seems that occasionally his decision-making may be influenced by personal biases relating to appearance, voice, and attitude. In cases where individuals display characteristics similar to his own, such as being snarly, constantly irritated, or somewhat antisocial, Simon often evaluates them quite harshly. It appears that Simon had already formed an unfavorable opinion of Markus even before he started his comedy routine. Perhaps Simon had seen some of Markus' previous videos and disapproved of the repeated use of certain jokes. It is important to note that comedians frequently refine and enhance their jokes by using them repeatedly during performances. Although Simon is aware of this practice, it seems that his dislike for Markus is not solely based on his jokes, but rather on an unfair judgment without truly knowing Markus. Given the significant influence Simon wields, it is disappointing that he could not find a way to appreciate Markus' jokes and empathize with someone who, while visibly nervous on stage, was trying to mask his fear and deliver a successful performance.

That was unfair for Simon to do to this comedian. At 2:42, I noticed Simon's facial expression as if he didn't understand his joke. *When someone has made it to the semi-finals, and one judge finds it isn't great, it's best to say so when they're done, for it's an insult to that person when a judge hits the Red X, which should be used someone's audition is no good.* At the Semi-Finals, I remember when Simon hit the Red X in the middle of Puddles singing Royals, and he sang excellently.

a good comeback after the buzzer would've been 'someone has finger tourettes!' which would've led into the hospital drama. he's bang on about the food. as someone with a very restricted diet, it's no good being in hospital if the food is liable to make you stay there considerably longer and more hospital-y. I went vegetarian one year I was in hospital pregnant. the car park was a bunny rabbit playground after the guests had gone home, and inbetween visiting hours. as we waddled down the corridor to the day room for dinner, I was asked why I wasn't touching the meat. I said 'it makes me throw up. everything else stays down. besides, you really can't tell what you're eating in this place.' I was asked how I knew, so I said 'well, you know all those cute little bunny rabbits running around... well, there's a bloke dresses up as a lettuce leaf stands on the roof with a shotgun with a silencer....' and all around me, the sound of knives and forks being put down 🤣

It is always hard to beat the first appearance on any talent show like BGT or AGT. Why? You most likely spend years preparing one audition and you perfect it. Then, if you somehow get through to the next round, you do not have years to prepare for the next "perfect" performance. So, this dooms many talents.

he buzzed as a joke because there were people under 30 there it's like "I don't like that you are under 30 when I'm not " kind of joke. At least that's how I interpreted it but I might be wrong. Simon sometimes seems to buzz not because he wants the act to stop but to joke around with the audience, like when he buzzed when Amanda was doing scientific experiments and answered a question, Simon buzzed almost like saying she's wrong. Sometimes he buzzes to play with the audience and fellow judges

⁠@@symphonixblades Rewinded it after he got buzzed because I was confused too, but the buzz happened after he made a joke about it being weird to follow little kids (I can't remember the exact joke) and then Simon whispers something in Amanda's ear and whilst Markus was setting up the under 30s joke then buzzes - I think he felt that joke was too far? Or maybe he just said something like "nobody's laughing" and then buzzed because that's the reasoning he gave once giving criticism.
