I'm no experimenter like these people but everything I saw in this video brought up a lot of things in my past that I've realized. I grew up on both Barney and the MMPR. Yes I was interactive with both. Here's another story, years later my little cousin comes along, she watched a lot of Barney as well, but stupid younger me did something not so good and exposed her to teen films like Bring it On (I was at a stage where I was growing up too fast and that rubbed off on little kids who were around me) she was interactive with the shows for little kids and the Bring it On films. With Bring it On not only was she imitating the dance moves and such, she was imitating the sassy and rude behavior of those teenage female characters, even repeating curse words (keep in mind this was a preschool aged kid). When that happened I was appalled and tried to keep her away from those movies, so when she would ask me if we could watch the movies, I said ''NO watch something else'' but my parents who were oblivious thought I was being too bossy, I tried to explain to them but they didn't buy it, therefore, I had to give in to my cousin's requests. What's my point? When I interacted with the things I watched as a kid, if I imitated something from an age inappropriate show, I was told to stop and to turn off the program. When my cousin imitated the behaviors of those female teenagers on screen, she was NOT told to quit and she was still permitted by her mom to watch it. This affected her as she started to grow up because then she was really acting bratty and really pissed everyone off; and it was clear that there were negative influences (not just the TV) and when some of us tried to expose her to more age appropriate material that had good role models as well, she rejected it without giving it a chance. Whenever she came over, she insisted that we'd watch a movie or show that evidently was not good for her, almost every time, I said NO and that time my folks agreed with me because I explained everything to them. She continued to act irritating and bratty UNTIL I nearly cut off her oxygen because she back talked me, a much older person, in MY house. I regret nearly killing her but after that she learned not to cross me or anyone in my family. In conclusion, parents, you do need to monitor what your kids are watching and make sure that it's in their age range, if you see or hear something that isn't right and it's rubbing off on your kid, TURN IT OFF, and have a heart to heart with them and explain why not everything they see is good for them and why certain things should not be copied by them. Remember that it takes two to tango, the mix of kids watching stuff not for them plus you as a parent not doing anything about it equals lots of hell for your kids in the future because the real world has no tolerance for that shit. And make sure that you're being a good role model as well, because who's to say that a child's cursing habit didn't come from you? If you don't want your kid to repeat cursing from the TV, you don't curse around them as well. It's funny how some parents preach ''Honor thy father and mother'' but are behaving in a way that indirectly tells the kid to not follow that. Feel me? ✌🏾

Power Rangers is NOT meant for 2 to 5 year olds! It’s meant for kids 7 and up. That’s why it’s rated TV-Y7 because it’s a fantasy adventure that contains martial arts. Also kids 7 and older know what’s real and what’s fiction.

By the way, in the first time they did the experiment in 1994, I don’t know what Barney episode they were watching but as for the episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that they were watching, it was Rita’s Seed of Evil. For the second time they did it in 2003, it was the VHS tapes of Barney’s Red, Yellow and Blue! and Power Rangers Ninja Storm: Looming Thunder which is Volume 2 and contains the episode of the same name, as well as the Thunder Strangers three-parter.

Gee, what's most weird is that in the credits of both shows use 2 people to portray the characters. For example, Barney from Barney & Friends and Rita's henchmen from Power Rangers use one person for the body performance and the other person for the voicing the character (like in animated movies and such).

I think Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers crosses (x) Power Rangers. Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers is a classic. Power Rangers aren't. I may only watch Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, SpongeBob SquarePants, Kim Possible, Lizzie McGuire, Full House, Sofia the First, Winx Club or Phineas & Ferb and not Power Rangers because Pedro, the signer of the Captain N petition, says "NO" in front of Power Rangers and "YES" to the classics.

I can see the point of this, I don't think this experiment is fair on the kids. Barney is rated TV-Y whilst Power Rangers (In this case Ninja Storm) is rated TV-Y7. Power Rangers isn't meant for kids that young, there is a show kids these young should watch. Barney is that show. One parent took the show away from the child. He wasn't to blame, it was the parent. The child was too young to watch. This is flawed.
@drewg4323

@drewg4323 I honestly think that the parents and the daycares are to blame. Barney and Power Rangers were on completely different television channels. All of PBS Kids' programming is child friendly. The TV ratings are there for a reason. Barney and Power Rangers have different ratings. I think it is the parents responsibility, not television companies. If a kid watches Power Rangers and gets suspended from school for imitating it, the parent is to blame as they showed the show to children far too young to watch it.
