They don't have a real chance to refuse. You keep following them when they actively try to avoid you. Wen Kexing wasn't stalking Zhou Zishu, because it was obvious from the beginning that Zishu liked him. He was just being a curmudgeon in order to spare Wen Kexing the pain of losing *him*. Cao Weining wasn't stalking Gu Xiang either, people just noticed that he liked her and told him where she was.
