Two cops also tried to scam my Dad by claiming he “didn’t wait for beach traffic” (at 10 pm at night) and then claimed he was speeding when he wasn’t, but suddenly he didn’t do either of those when the cop saw my Dad was an American cop with a badge in his wallet. Those jerks were trying to scam people into giving them $50, they probably steal weed from the evidence locker and get baked before scamming people

I've been a "stoner" for over 10 years now. Started when I was 14. I'm reasonably successful now. I can only thank my parents for how they handled finding out at 14 I was smoking weed. I really respect their understanding of my personality and that the fact they've done it in their lives too and enjoy it too. They knew if they were going to be hypocrites, I would push back and probably would have done many of the drugs my friends did later in life. For over 10 years now I haven't touched another drug. I rarely even drink. Thanks mom and dad. I know you're proud of me and where I am in life now and I have only your foresight and maturity to thank for that. I could have easily gone down a drug infested lifepath like others in my family did. Lucky to have the parents I have

Personally, I feel 14 is a bit too young to start smoking. 18 or 17, yeah, ok, you’re old enough to know to do your homework before partying and not to drive after smoking, but 14’s still a kid. Yeah I'm a 20 year old mum and before my daughter came along I was smoking it 24/7 even at work, I was literally stoned 24/7 it was so unhealthy and became a bad habit, but then i got pregnant and cut weed out for majority of the pregnancy and then when she was like 8-9 months old I used it in moderate doses I never went over board and would only have one when she went for a 2 hour nap so I knew I had time to sober up, and I still manage to look after her pretty easily, I do everything for her and put her above any bad habits I have 😊

It's crazy how the attitude of parents regarding drugs and their kids has changed so much. When I was a kid I didnt even know what weed was because it was still highly illegal and everyone in my life who used it kept it a secret. I was told it was bad and never to use it or any other drugs. Now parents are telling their kids the truth and they're so much more relaxed about it.

I grew up in a household where drugs were forbidden and ended up with major substance abuse problems as an adult. Cigaretres were espeically frowned upon and i smoke 2 packs a day. I'm clean from drugs now, but had i not been so sheltered, I probably would have never found drugs or alcohol or cigarettes interesting in the first place.

Yeah! My mom told me when I started having sex to tell her, so she could get me birth control. I was mortified at the thought and was like "YEAH RIGHT I would never tell you!" But you know what? I started having sex with my boyfriend, and I knew I had to keep myself safe and make smart decisions. So I did tell my mom. I appreciate that she wanted to mitigate the damage that could've been done when teenagers inevitably start doing things like that.

The failed Dare program and other drug education programs didn’t actually educate kids on anything, it just made you think all drugs were the same and none could have medicinal purposes. This is how I was raised as well. My parents would openly smoke in the garage in front of my brother and I. They would lock up their pieces in a locker though so they were out of our reach. Growing up I felt most people thought you was cool if you smoked weed but watching my parents do it made me think it was lame. Not until becoming an adult did I ever experiment with it myself.
