As a daughter of immigrant parents, I get where the mother is coming from. She's clearly lived a difficult life.

Christin Aziz my mom could never do the PTA parent thing. As a single parent with two children she worked all the time. But my mom still wouldn’t have replied the way the Russian mother did. I felt that way too, wishing my mother could be there for those moments, but I know my mom couldn’t have done it. I think the daughter already knows that too. She’s just trying to tell her mom she wished she had her there for those moments, and her mom was so cold about it.

What an earth does “loving a child from a distance” mean? How on earth could anybody love their child any less for their sexuality/who they date? Im sorry but if you aren’t willing to accept a child for what ever reason, you shouldn’t be allowed to have children. I don’t care what anyone says, its not okay. Somebody’s sexuality doesn’t effect other people. Oh my goodness I really dislike some people. Poor lady! :(

@aliu95144 жыл бұрын
Kelis White Does that mean I’m not allowed to have kids? I just don’t want it, I wouldn’t be angry but I would burst in tears for every day in my life. I mean I would love my child but I wouldn’t be able to live with knowing that. I’m also gonna tell my future husband this. Sorry but every human is different. It is true that in nature you find male and male or different sometimes but only for a day, they all find partners with the opposite gender. So NO it is not natural! Come up with it. I’m gonna delete this later, so f you want to say something, hurry up.

I agree. It's also a generation and culture thing. No excuses per se, however how you grow definitely can influence that. If I remember right, Russia is still having raids and hunts to find gay people or anyone apart of the LGBTQ community (they say they aren't, but what country would honestly admit to doing such acts?). It's still such a big deal for them. The fact that she is definitely from an older generation, but still says she'd love her, is still good if you look at it from a different perspective. This may not have been a comment you were looking for or even expecting, but I just wanted to say it. Mostly because I feel like there could be a lot of judgement without trying to fully understand everything about a person. Still, you can have your opinion on if she's a good mom or bad, I'm not going to stop you there. Since my opinion is a very neutral mother who probably had it rough, and it made her rough, but still tries her best.

It’s wild you can see how stark the difference is between a narcissistic parent relationship and normal parents. The normal parents are not perfect and can be mean too, but the narcissist is just so totally unconcerned and apathetic to their child’s needs. They act as if everything is a bother to them. In fact, they make everything more difficult when it does not center around them. Even the joking feels strained. I hope the daughter here gets the healing and distance she needs, I hope that for all of us with parents like this.
