Parents of organ donor meet the boy she saved

Keira was nine years old when she tragically died in a car accident. She donated her organs saving the lives of four people, including Max, who received her heart.

My brother passed away in January and he donated his organs. We received a letter in the mail from the donor of his lungs. I hope i can meet that person one day.

I love that Max is so close to Keiras mom & dad & it's wonderful that even at such a tender age he appreciates & understands the gravity of the gift that was given to him. Her parents must be immensely proud. Through their tragedy came something beautiful & their little girl saved not just Max's life, but also the lives of three others ❤

They use devices to keep it alive the persons brain might not work but the body is kept of life support to keep the organs working until they're given to the recipient.
