I like the two guests they were on point. They took me back to my childhood and I remembered some memories. My two sisters and I were sent to boarding school by my dad from the age of 8 or 9 (class 3) all the way to form 4. During holidays we never got to spend time with my parents and thus we didn't bond neither with both parents or my younger brother. The strange thing was when we finished high school my dad became supper clingy with us girls, he would treat us like children. Wanting to dictate everything to us, holding our hands as we crossed the road like little children 😂😂. In fact up to now he excessively controlling and still treats us like little children sometimes well into our 30s

I have heard of some young children saying that the best time of the day for them is when they get to have mum or dad drop them off at school. Because then, that is the only time they actually get to bond. Sad how many people are quick to bring children into this world yet they do not have what it takes to raise them especially on the emotional aspect!

I am 33 don't have kids and I am perfectly happy. Many people including my family are upset about this. I really do not care. If I don't want kids and I forcefully have them, what good will that do to me or the kids?

I like where you're going with this. However, your conversation has mostly touched on hard working teachers who are actually trying to help you raise your child. Not all teachers are like this. Some lack the patience, compassion, empathy and concern that is characteristic of a brilliant educator. This can be detrimental to a child's upbringing, especially if it is coupled with absentee parenting. One other point I'd like to re-enforce is the one that was made about people having children to tick a "life box". This isn't just with children. It's also with marriage, going to uni, getting a fancy title before one's name and so on. Someone sold us the lie that there is a "checklist to life" and people are doing these things without even thinking about it. Sometimes I wonder if we're setting ourselves these exam-like markers in life because passing exams was the only way we were taught to move forward in life. Then we get that into that fancy company and discover the project-based realities of work and real life, where we actually have to think through a project's life cycle and plan it out carefully. This is where the problems begin, because it is where we finally grow our critical thinking skills and realise our mistakes. By then we've done so much blindly and it's too late to change our choices.

Wow! I was in a public high school but my dad constantly kept tabs on me even through the teachers even if it meant coming to school without me knowing whether he was there. As a parent even in a public school you can still be involved.

There is a difference between spending time with someone and spending time around someone!! weeeh🙆 Deeeep!!!!! And this I think is how most parents To do list this oct look like esp with the Long Holz coming 1.-Look for a camp/seminar to send my kids 2.Tuition theres some who still do it btw and..- 3. ushago check with Grandparents to ensure if the above fail theres surely a place we can send them to and join them later around christmass time!!! And please Kieleweke I am not saying these activities are wrong nooo but even as you plan to send them away please understand it will never substitute YOUR PRESENCE IN THEIR LIVES-!!!! Presents are amaazing but Your PRESENCE means EVERYTHING to us as children!!! Honestly at this rate seminars should now Target parents more than the child !!! Parents need to be open to knowledge and counsel -drop this attitude of nobody should tell me how to raise my child and blaming other parties for not stepping in Rightly!!!
