Birthday boy story : NTA imo OP. Your wife could have arranged to go out with her friend the next night but chose your birthday when you two had already made plans. So, you chose to have a happy time with a male friend regardless and celebrated your birthday by not wasting the reservations at the Restaurant. Your wife put her friend before you. Her choice. You spent your birthday doing guy things with your male friend. Sounds a good day to me. I would have said you were TA if you had taken a female friend, as that would have been divorce worthy but, since it was a male friend, your wife does not really have anything to complain about imo.
