I don’t get it. I’m the youngest of six kids I’m 67 years old. Not only did we not do this kind of thing back then, why do children wish for siblings?. Seems to be a lot of kids resent that second child because they’re not number one anymore. Children are naturally selfish and don’t want to share mom and dad. It just seems this narrative is being pushed too much.

I have 3 siblings from my mom, none of us felt that way. My mom was a single mother for most of her and my life, which made the attention spread a little thinner. I was the baby of me and my sisters, and then my little brother came around. My mom had lost a baby in between me and my little brother, and it was devastating. I wanted another sibling, being the baby of us didn’t make a difference. I finally got a brother, and I don’t know what I would do without him. Not everyone feels that way. I also have 2 stepbrothers and another sister from my dad. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
