Why do so many people, particularly in the US (not everyone obvs) not understand the difference between races, ethnicities, nationalities, linguistic groups & religious affiliations? I haven't noticed this anywhere else I've been to. People say things like "I'm 1/2 Black and 1/2 Hispanic/Latin". That's a race, and an ethnic group. They can't be added together. It's like saying I'm 1/2 White and 1/2 Christian. Hispanic/Latin is an ethnic group and it has no racial meaning. Why do most not get it?

Okay I have been this situation personally 2 times. I was the one with jobs and going to school. When he told me I told him straight up I love you with everything I got but I will make you choose. I wouldn't give up my family for you because family is family..I walked away, it was the hardest thing I ever did. But I grew up POOR and family means alot so this is hard choice...but if he knew that then he already made the choice.
