The fact is nobody in the fragrance community buys PDMs or Initios at Retail! I own Haltane and enjoy it a lot, I know there's no OUD in any of their fragrances. I am an OUD aficionado who wears real ouds all the time, I still enjoy haltane. That Amberwood, disgusting, saffron, ethyl maltol smell is why these fragrances are so wildly popular. Ram your opinion is in the minority here, I hate to say it. The sales numbers speak for themselves. The only thing that angers me is the marketing and lies about using Real OUD. My Bortnikoffs and Areej ouds are truly stunning and I prefer them obviously!

I sampled Haltane on skin and didn’t care for it. I do own and love Herod and Oajan. PDM has some solid cold weather offerings.

So, it has ethyl maltol whipping through the base? 😂 I see so many people selling this because they 'already have OFG.' That Ana Abiyedh Rouge by Lattafa is supposed to be a BR540 clone, my daughter wears it to cover up smells working in health care. I smell that and it's million clones all over. Have you ever reviewed that?

I bought a couple PdM early on… Herod, Carlisle, Layton… The og mainstream hits. Ok… nothing special. But I stopped buying them… Just not worth it and pretty forgettable. Carlisle is probably my favorite… outside of the opening 5-10 minutes.

I came back to this video because I was able to test Haltane today. Unlike you, I personally like a lot of sweet scents like Herod, Layton or even Ultra Male. But I have to absolutely agree that this scent is an absolute disgrace. Synthetic, harsh, unbalanced, I wouldn't respect this scent even for €40. The price of €300 is like a slap in the face.

Funnily enough, I already had the same impression that initio and pdm reuse their scents in a modified form with PdM Carlisle and Initio Blessed Baraka. Carlisle isn't wrong, a bit too syrupy sweet for me, Blessed Baraka is an overly sweet disaster. But both scents are so similar in structure that I suspect that Blessed Baraka was originally a rejected proposal by Alberto Morillas for PdM Carlisle, which was then recycled 2 years later and used by Initio.

Please, I would be happy if the perfume nichs lovers answer especially, nish perfumes can have slightly different and difficult smells and they are synthetic or plasticy and these are of course bad examples. Will buying and using a perfume cause regret and I hope it is not a smell that people will not like, especially the opposite sex will turn their noses up, and I hope it is not a smell that you will enjoy on a holiday in the hot season. Can I get your recommendations for perfumes that are not too fresh for dinner and afterwards, thank you (because fresh perfumes are very perfumes that go smoothly and can be used for breakfast or during the day.🙄

I have layton exclusiff bought at a discount liked the idea of more animalic and an oud note i knew that it was no real oud in it but i did quite enjoy it, since then ive aquired Lao oud and oud maximus and i never ever reach for my PDM no more, yes its nice and for the price i got it for it was worth it but realisticlly it shoud be 90-130 dollars max

Imagine this Ramsey.. In my country Baccarat rouge 540, Oud for greatness and every 30 dollar clone of these fragrances are what about 80-85% of women who wear perfume - wears. All ages btw. I smell this DNR every time I go out. When I was in a dating scene few years back, 8 out of 10 dates were this DNR. And sadly I am not even exaggerating. First thing I did when I decided that I want to see someone for a long time, I threw away their oud for greatness 30 dollar clone to the trash and gifted a less annoying fragrance of her choice :D Long story short being a frag head where I am from is hell :D

Sooo much luv for your dedication and willingness to put your snuffering on display for the Ram-FragFam♡! SOTD is 1987-8 Halston Z-14, was my Pop's favorite. I got really excited because he has a bunch of vinty cologne that he stashed in his closet... Some early 80's Jovan, late 70's: English Leather with a cork looking cap, and an old British Sterling flacon with his name engraved on the pewter(?) top half of the bottle; and a large green glassThinker Mennen-Skin Bracer aftershave cologne bottle 70's too. Parfums de Marly, the great modern niche house, that showed excellence in making 10$ scents and selling them for 400! That's something! God, I laughed a lot during this video, it was amazing, the computer might love them and revolted!😂 Yes, Haltane smells like Oud for Glory, that OFG clone, and Haltane is worse than OFG, I 100% agree. The only PdM fragrance I kinda like is Carlisle, let's say it's a guilty pleasure. Some people just have money, they don't love the industry and the art of perfumery and they spend 300 bucks on these frags thinking they smell amazing. They are one of the best-selling brands, which shows how this industry is segmented, the true frag heads I believe are here, with Guerlains, Papillons, Areej, and others. After you smell a fragrance like Shalimar, Jubilation 25 or Femme, and many other amazing fragrances, I find it hard to come back to a PdM and still believe it's a great fragrance. Cheers!

Haltane and OFG are so off putting, I had to wash them off my skin. I appreciate your sacrifice spraying this disgusting juice on your hand for our sake. Respect. And to think they are the more expensive in the line... the audacity. As for Initio, try Divine Attraction. It's not a great scent, but it's at least not below average as most of the line. It's interesting. A sample or a small decant worthy. Btw, on my skin the only exception from Initio, that is above average, is one of your "favorites" :) - Side Effect. Decant worthy for me.

Cheers Rams , I did not ever consider buying either P.D.M nor Inito offerings. but got a freebie sample of Oud for greatness (jeez I hate saying or hearing the goddam name lol😅) but my Daughter happened to smell it on me that day and was smitten by is silage ( go figure) so I got her a bottle of Supremacy in Oud a clone and she thought it even better than the over priced shite ,that henceforth shall remain nameless 😅, nowadays I never sniff it off her ,thankfully her nose has come into whack and it’s history,god is good hahaha ,great fun video have a good one man ✌️🙏👍

I went to initio Parfums boutique and smelled oud for happiness on a test blotter and it wasn't bad. It seemed enjoyable. The sales pitch was insane tho. He literally said for oud for greatness, and i quote. "This is the best oud on the market"

@@RamseytheRam "Oud For Greatness" is poor as an oud fragrance (or even an oud-forward or oud-related fragrance), but i really do enjoy the overall fragrance itself - just that simple.

@@RamseytheRam and i'll add that i make a serious effort to follow and keep-up with the oud-category exclusives from Harrods - many are excellent, in my humble opinion: "Deep Viola" by Byredo, "Golden Wanderers" by Ex Nihilo, "Mr. Harrod" by Penhaligon's, and "Bois Nomades" by Chopard... and on the flipside, one that smells little more than a rebottled version of its predecessor, "Polo Oud" by Ralph Lauren (i pass on this one)

oops... and one i nearly forgot: if Amouage "Epic - Man" and "Epic - Woman" loved each other very much so that they got together and had a baby, that baby would be "Sparkling Opal" by Thameen - just superb!
