I'd love to know exactly what Hojo did to his toe, looked at a funny angle and bleeding, and Tatalishvili went to check on him after the contest and looked quite shocked at the state of his foot. Hopefully we'll see Hojo back soon.

seen this happen once at a seminar where a player -66 was working with a -100 player and the sheer lateral force of being moved by the bigger player caused his toe, which was the primary resistor in that scenario, to simply snap and produce a red crease, which began to bleed i had been watching their randori and saw it, super distressing for the lil guy

After attending judo at the Olympics, I attended my first ever judo Grand Slam during these 2 days and it was amazing! I will be back next year. I just hope nothing too serious for the wounded judokas and wish them a speedy recovery

Thanks man. The footage is great, and your commentaries are too. Just when I was about to try seriously the "same side" grip ( two hands on the left ) at training tonight, you show us great footages of it. How nice ! I was happy to see some Sumi Gaeshi action, because I'm doing it with some success, and it's a validation that is works at the top level too. Noice noice noice.

I know the Maori reference just because I happen to watch Sika Strength where two Irish guys sometimes talk about rugby. And I think it came up once in Tom Scott's Lateral quiz show. What's better than random fringe reference that makes people curiously search for new information on cultures. I really liked how Tajima touched the back of the leg like he was going for osoto gari, very briefly, before smoothly turning it into seoi otoshi. I'm sad that the only clips we see of Puumalainen are still clips where he gets thrown cleanly. There will be a day where we get highlights of him scoring on people left and right. The European championship will repeat in some form. Talking about how to say names, I believe Kaljulaid is also pronounced like "y" since Finnic languages don't have the "chu/dzu" type of "j" sound, it's just pure j.

I wish they would penalise it more. There you go. They can celebrate at home. I don't want to see it, it's very low class because it doesn't show respect for the opponent. Have a nice day

Tajima is very good however i don't see him winning against Bekauri and Murao. He is very skilled but looks kinda short for the category
@r.s.819
@r.s.819 5 күн бұрын
@@marcoswagner1428 funny thing is Tajima actually has a winning record over Murao, having beaten him more than once domestically before he lost to him at the Tokyo GS 2024. He is going to have to step it up if he wants to compete in LA in 2028. Before 2024, Tajima just wasn't consistently performing well, having only gotten two medals in five years at different grand slams (one in 2019, one in 2023). His bronzes at Tokyo 2024 and Paris 2025 make up half his medal count for this kind of event. It's still incredibly early for the LA cycle, but it looks like it's going to be fun to watch. We'll have to wait and see how Tajima and Murao do at the world championship this year, if there's even a chance that Japan would send two people for 90 kg.

@@marcoswagner1428 Tajima's matches with him were before Murao graduated from university (one while in high school). He could have managed to surpass Tajima now. I do want to see Kawabata v Murao, because Tajima has beaten Kawabata, but Murao hasn't competed against him.

New rules are like old rules, only is missin "koka". I disliked recent rules, you had either wazari or ippon, restored rules partly take into account that are throws that almos are wazari.

You are butchering the Dutch names! Voogd is pronounces with the oo sounding like boat, and the g in Dutch is harsh/guttural (except in Flemish or Southern Netherlands where it is soft). Btw I got your NZ haka reference 😂😂
