Boston 10k and Team U.S.A processing in week 10 of my 16-week build to the 2024 Paris Olympic marathon.
I spent the first part of the week in Boston for a 10k road race. I got absolutely drenched in the downpour on the start line, but what a great event!
Flew straight from Eugene to Boston and made it to Hayward Field just in time for the men's 1500m. That was electric. Team U.S.A. processing was cool. I tried on the kit that I will race in and I was fitted for my opening and closing ceremony gear. So surreal!
Finished up the week at home. It was a great long run up at Deer Creek Reservoir with a speedy pickup at the end in Heber.
In October 2023, I ran 2:08:00 at the Chicago marathon. Then, at the US Olympic Trials marathon in February 2024, I placed second and qualified for Team USA.
I will be racing the Olympic marathon at the Olympic games this summer in Paris. Join me during this training block as I prepare mentally and physically to compete on the biggest stage.

What a wonderful ambassador for running you are. Your maturity that comes not only from age but your life as an engineer, husband, father and Christian gives you perspective and humility. I hope younger runners take lessons from what you are sharing. Thank you for taking us on your journey, and I will be rooting you on in Paris.
