The Paris Olympics 2024 will be declared open, with a one-of-a-kind opening ceremony through the Seine River in the French capital. The extraordinary opening ceremony breaks away from tradition by moving outside out of the stadium. Instead, athletes will be celebrated aboard boats along the Seine River, providing a unique spectacle that spans a six-kilometre route. Over 10,000 athletes are going to be a part of the process and will be carried in 100 boats which promises to be a delightful sight for all the fans across the globe.

I will save you the need to read all 1,511 comments...they are all negative....and rightly so..!! I watched the entire event in dismay...there were a few redeeming moments....especially the performance of Celine Dion. But not enough to save this disaster. If Paris wanted to tell the world that it is the Capitol of decadence and bad taste it surely succeeded. But it is not Paris's fault alone...The International Olympic Committee oversees all city's production of the Olympic Games. Historically it has reviewed a City's preparations before the event, and made strong demands on its production. Why it failed here is the big question. let's hope it will see to it that the Closing Ceremony doesn't repeat this travesty.
