The village for athlètes is build in the north of Paris, in the poorest city in France, on purpose. Liké that, this city, Seine-Saint-Denis will profite of those New buildings

The Games are falling out of favor all around. How much longer do organizers think they can keep it up? Selected cities never recover the money invested plus structures built are left vacant and become urban decay.

Exactly I mean look at Athens and Brazil. Us Sydney people the first year after the Sydney 2000 games was blank until all the stadiums and venues get used.

The best option at this point is likely one permanent central location. Or 3-5 rotating venues (would likely be one in the americas, one in Europe and one in Asia).

For the paris olympics, all venues are already existant (stade de france, cycling arena...) or temporary (horseriding versailles, beach volley...). The only exception is the basketball stadium that will be taken over by paris basketball club and the new swimming pool. The olympic village will be converted into social housing. So no structures left vacant

I really do want this Olympics to go well and live up to the hype, but France is having so many issues right now politically that it is impossible not to worry about serious security threats. All of Western Europe is under threat, but this city is going to be especially targeted. I live in Germany and know quite a number of people who have canceled their plans to attend the games or the ceremony.

To whoever may read that comment, apologies for the serious tone of this comment, but if you happened to have plan to come to Paris for those Olympics, please just change it, choose another destination. France is currently ruled by an authentically autocratic, totalitarian regime. Democracy has fallen here. Individual freedoms are increasingly threatened. If you love France and want to help the French people, then just boycott the event so that it can be turned into a major failure in the face of the world for Macron and his minions. Please be also aware that the people who make up this regime are truly incompetent, with the mainstream media constantly covering up their blunders. For several years this incompetence has been responsible for an increase in violent crime in the country. It's really worrying that these people could be entrusted with the organization of such an event.
