Châtelet-Les Halles is a major train hub in Paris and one of the largest underground stations in the world. Opened in 1977, it is the central transit hub for the Île-de-France metropolitan area, connecting three of five RER commuter-rail lines and five of sixteen Métro lines.

The 2 deck-train is not really a metro, it's RER (for Réseau Express Régional). RER is schematically a commuter train in the suburbs and a subway in Paris. It runs faster and further than the métro. 1:45 is really a métro.

it is the merger of 3 distinct stations......Chatelet (M1-M4), Les Halles (M4 and after RER), Pont Notre-Dame - Pont au Change (M7). In 1935, the M11 line was opened and the underground pedestrian link between M7-M11 and M1-M4 was also opened. When the RER opened in 1977, the second link was opened. This is the current configuration, and between the northern exit and the southern exit, there are 630m, more than some interstations (including that of the M4 Les Halles-Chatelet)
