Ah my old commuter line when I lived in Paris! The Francilien trains though are a massive improvement

October 1983 I was staying at Cergy Pontoise, and the closest station was Cergy Préfecture. We went to Paris mostly by the Z series Banlieu train to Paris St Lazare. The Z series door closing chirp is one I will always remember as distinct from the single tone of the RER Metro and tram. One time we transferred to the RER A in Nanterre, and somehow I was more impressed with the La Défense station than Charles DeGaulle Étoile RER, somehow Auber was similarly designed. I was only 11 years old at the time.
