Nice work there. The more I'm thinking about these big ship electrification, the more I think the nose drive is the way to go.

The FES is scale, but it's not exactly pretty. But it really works well extending your flight time in the air and also getting up in the air if a tow is not available.

yes they do. We don't have the FES Fema LG in either. That would help. You just have to hold some up elevator as you start out and let it lift off before you ease off the elevator.

The only real thing you need is a bit of time as Paritech takes about 4-8 months to get them ready to ship. They can make it ready to fly if you like, all you need is a bit of $$$ But they are awesome to fly, and so easy to land too.

Francisco, you can call or write to Paritech direct to get a quote on one of these. They start at about €5,620.- for the kit version and €9,000.- built up almost ready to fly. Shipping depends on whether you want it to come via air or freight. If you write to them now they might be out of the country for the next 4 weeks or so but I'm not sure what their dates are but be patient they will reply. Here is their website and the DG-1000: www.paritechshop.de/shop/shop-en/dg-1000-bausatz-888m-1225/?lang=en. Email them through their contact page. If for some reason you don't feel they responded come back to me and I'll get in touch with them for you. Good luck, and if you end up getting one I'm always willing to help with questions you might have etc. It is a wonderful sailplane that floats on very little lift.

LOL, well there is also a huge cost difference of almost 200k. I also prefer to be on the ground standing when I have a really bad day in the air. That way I get to go home without the pine box. LOL. In all honesty I have not flown in a real glider yet. Lots of small private planes. Even though they are similar I have always preferred the stand-off better. If you check on some of my later videos you will see we are diving into FPV which is much more like the real thing. It doesn't feel like it when one is doing it but more so in watching the video after. Do you fly the full scale?

Flying that beauty after all that work is dificult because you have your heart on top of the sticks. Thats why I prefer the $300 or less models. Good fly .
@sdmoller
@sdmoller 3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate what you're saying, but once you fly one of these its hard to go back. Even the 6m can't compete with the way these fly. They are so stable, predictable and quite frankly easy to fly and land. It takes a little while before the pucker effect of the cost goes away so you can fully enjoy the moment. Just don't tell your wife what the cost was for what your flying or you will get cut off for sure. Cheers :-)

Hi, What type of freckled grey paint did you use in the cockpit. What is it called? Thanks.
@sdmoller
@sdmoller Жыл бұрын
Hi, it is really a two part process. I use a Lt. Gray primer "Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer (this is the base color) then I use a faux stone spray can (Montana Cans GRANIT EFFECT Spray Paint, 400ml, Grey) sprayed lightly over the gray primer. It only gives the black dots in the gray, don't try and coat/cover the gray primer. Just light spray over the gray.

Pretty nice but this cost 2k to 4k?
@sdmoller
@sdmoller 3 жыл бұрын
Nope, 2 - 4k will just cover the electronics inside the sailplane!

@@sdmoller Sorry but I fly helicopters and our electronics are expensive 45 - 130 dollar per servo how would a glider electronic be 2- 4k. Gliders are slow moving gliders they hardly need fast servo and probably 45 to 100 of oz.in torque. I got a huge gas plane 200cc plane built it high end electronic all cost me 3k-4k why would a sail plane that isn't much special as planes cost more then a helicopter and close to high end gas plane? It is beautiful sail plane would thought be under 1k for just airframe maybe 500.
@sdmoller
@sdmoller 3 жыл бұрын
@@rcrotorfreak Trust me it adds up. I wish it wasn't so. You might have the size wrong, these are 8.8m basically 29' wingspan just under 1/2 scale at 44%. There are 16 servos D950TW one is D980TW (rudder).

I dont know why you would stick a motor in the front of such a beautiful(for dg-1000 standards😉😉) glider
@sdmoller
@sdmoller 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it is beautiful and its completely mind-blowing to see this thing just slowly floating around some 200-300' up in the air. The FES gives us the freedom to self launch should there not be a tow plane around. Each flight on these are usually 45 min plus, and usually its one self that gets tired in the neck and want to just come down for the most fun part the landing. Love landing this thing, its super easy and predictable. I do have two other smaller DG-1000's one FES and the other strictly sailplane, and I love them all. :-)

@@sdmoller yeah i get that argument of utility, i still cant wrap my head around it. But, it is becoming more and more of a scale approach as it is becomiing more and more popular as a propelling method in real aviation(also it is the best way of putting a sustainer in a sailplane as you can just get yourself out of a bad situation at the push of a button
@sdmoller

@@theblobfish9614 Yes, no waiting for boom to come up and motor to spool up as well. Watched a 1/2 scale ASG-29 hit the embankment just before the runway because he calculated the distance and sink rate incorrect and tried to raise the up and go to help him over that little hill. I ended up helping him with the repair on that one. Another great thing about FES is that you are in most cases not adding any additional weight to the sailplane. We end up exchanging the nose wait for batteries and motor. But I do agree, the pure sailplane nose is prettier then what we currently have for FES. Full scale are getting some really nice custom made props that actually fit in snug tot he fuse, and the DG-1001e has a spinner that is oval in shape to the shape it would be and it rotates into place..... just way too cool. www.dg-flugzeugbau.de/en/aircrafts/dg-1001/dg-1001eneo?doing_wp_cron=1605835075.0486919879913330078125

The prop is so that we can do self take-off. The motor battery only last for 5 min total run time. We are almost always up flying for 1 hr to 2 hrs. It catches thermals extremely easy.

Really dumb question. Why not get your pilot license and rent the real thing? Probably less expensive. I am a pilot, started at 14 yrs old, now 64. Built many models and enjoyed them all. One of the original plan holders for the Sequoia Falco FL.8 designed in the 1955 by Stelio Frati. Italian. I have a few parts constructed. It will most likely will never be finished but the process is fun.. Real fun happens as a passenger or pilot in the air. Beautiful work. Special trailer to haul it around. Rent the Real Thing, You'll be happier!

Dean, not a dumb question. I've been asked many times and my answer always is. I like standing on the ground watching them fly and land especially. I've been up flying many times with friends that have small private pilots license even one time asked to go up in a Russian built Sukhoi Su-29, but again I like to control them from the ground. I have not tried to go up in a glider yet, one day I will. There are 3 of us that currently have one of these and two of us have flown them together in formation in over the runway. It looks so cool as they fly by so slowly. Its almost like looking at a 747 or the airbus 380 flying setting up for landing, so slow it looks like they would stall and fall down. Enjoy and thanks for the question. :-)
