I’m currently ‘living’ in a Park Home following my divorce after 25 years. I got a 3 bedroom static on a 10 month park with my two dogs but others have more dogs. It’s a wonderful place, everyone is so friendly and it’s on a lake with restaurant. £19000 for my static, paid outright, £3600 ground rent, £120 insurance, free water and sewage and waste collection. Only extras electricity and gas bottles. Gated and 24 hour security, love it ❤❤❤

@@DazPreston69 funny you say that, we are thinking of doing the same thing. Parents emmigrated to Canada when we were 10 yrs old, now we want to come back. Wife born in Glasgow, I was born in Sheffield.

The important things to remember are most rules are in favour of the site owners, an ordinary van that isn't residential spec is bloody cold and would cost you a fortune in the winter in heating. Most sites insist you use their workmen for any jobs. And no matter how much your van and the decking costs you the site owners will pay you next to nothing when you come to sell it. So basically it's not an investment it's a eventually a total loss, some sites won't let you pass it on to family if you die. And of course if you annoy the site owners they wouldn't renew your agreement when it expires so don't get into an argument with them.

Totally agree as said in the video, this is what people need to check before buying it’s not an investment although we have been offered more than we paid for it and we know it’s not bricks and mortar but we have that too so we are very lucky that way. We have a mobile home in Spain. 24/7 gated site security, over 50s only, no subletting, 12 months of the year occupancy, €4000 annual site fees which includes waste and bin collection, which might sound expensive but we also have site swimming pool, Gym, Bar and restaurant. Electric is free because we all have solar panels on top of the vans, Gas is in bottles t £60 per bottle and lasts around 4 months because everybody lives outside. Children can visit but cannot stay over which is a godsend, only 2 dogs per home and if your dog is out of control, or you are unsociable you are booted off the site.

I've always wanted a caravan, but they are so expensive. I've finished finally paying my mortgage, but I don't want to lose savings. My neighbour got a caravan from a show and got it reduced somehow. I'd love a caravan in north yorkshire. Especially since we retire in next 10 years.

It is a big decision to make, you need to find the right place and please ask the people who are there what it’s like ask not one but every person you see. I hope you are well and that you decide wisely don’t be materialistic and be 101% sure what you want if you have a doubt don’t do it.
