I had my doubts about the XTerra Pro. But after watching you (both) use it (beach/park), I won't hesitate to recommend it to potential new detectorists. I'll also say, "if you go whole hog on the hobby, buy a more advanced Minelab, but keep the XTerra Pro as a backup & loaner." 😄

Yeah... she does like it.... I felt it was not as specific on the VDIs and is a bit more jumpy but for the price it is still a good detector.

@@DigginSoCal yeah, well look at the price difference between it and the Equinox, the Deus 2, or the Manticore. You better get a lot more detector when you buy one of the more expensive ones. You get what you pay for. Still, it is an excellent entry level machine, and even a backup detector. Light weight and very easy to use, and you can find plenty of treasure right out of the box. It does a much better job than say the Apex, or Vanquish, or lol, the go-find 60. It's more user friendly with its intuitive controls, than say the Simplex or Legend, which are both great machines, just different to navigate. It's waterproof, and, oh, it does look cool in green...

As A left arm amputee who loves treasure hunting,my hubs bought me a Garrett medal detector🎉 Do u all have any suggestions on how to make it easier for me? So I don't waste unnecessary energy on little dings and tings. Is there a good flat number to start at?

I have the Garrett AT Pro but do not really use it. I am not that familiar with Garrett. My suggestion is to find a place in the yard and test it with coins and jewelry... take notes and get a feel for how it sounds and the numbers of targets. They may vary depending on condition and the ground but it will give you a better idea of what you are looking for.

The glass piece Christine thinks is a chess piece is actually a broken Neon tube mount. Holds neon on a sign and a small piece of copper wire wraps around the tabs. Yours has a broken ear

Don't Discredit those foil signals. I have a bunch of small gold from tot lots that ring up the same numbers as foil on my legend. Easy to find in wood chips and remove and then the next time it makes for a much easier hunt when most of the foil is removed.
