Crater of Diamonds Park Ranger gave me my final warning how to dig a proper hole, too “their” standards. Which is nearly impossible alone in the short 7 hour day the Park is open. Yet some locals have been digging incorrect for the last ten year, and they never get harassed. Either way, we found some beautiful Arkansas Diamonds from this amazing gravel layer full of diamond ore!!
Finding indicators like the beer can means one thing! A miner from the 1990’s was in that same gravel, he alone has found over two thousand Arkansas Diamonds at the park. one thousand in a year alone!! That gave me the confidence i needed to keep digging!!

Sir Park Ranger should recognize that You bring more People to His Park and that helps a lot! Also, I am a disabled older person and I cannot go out and do the hard work You do, but I would love to. Watching Your excellent videos really lifts my spirits. If they were to ban You from the Crater of Diamonds state park, they would be banning ME and that would be cruel. I pray to my Lord and God that You find the biggest diamonds every to be found in that ground. Hard work actually does pay off in the long run. Lighten up, Crater of Diamonds Park Ranger, please respect the hard working Man who is educating the rest of the population who cannot participate otherwise. I have learned so much about the park and the rules, regs, etc. not by reading about it, but through the Diamond Miners' You Tube Videos. I appreciate all of You.

people have died in 1-1/2 foot deep trenches from the sides sluffing off. sloping the sides of a hole or trench does save lives. the more it has been disturbed in the past and the more sand and gravels, the more likely sluffing will occur

@Kev'sCaptures A foot and a half? What, were they paralyzed or unconscious? I understand that it can be risky to dig more than 3 feet in certain types of soil. (sand) It's the same reason you can't build a retaining wall more than 3 feet tall without installing dead men or geo fabric. 18 inches just sounds ridiculous, though. Where's the source of that story? By the way, it's slough not sluff.

You have to slope , Jason. The guys not hard nosing you. If you go beyond 3 ft in many areas , you have to slope ! It will save you from getting entrapped . Just do the right thing . Ok , so , from a plumber to my guy Jason. Only toss your shovel full of dirt a ft from the edge of the excavation , if you are less than 3 ft deep . Tossing the dirt takes energy , and we want to save as much as possible. So , toss the dirt as little as you can . Second tip , if you mound your spoils close to the excavation in mounds , then when you refill , it will take alot less time to backfill. Bacfilling after digging all day is incredibly exhausting. I have to grind the tossing a short distance rule into my apprentices heads on the regular. Time is money , and dirt is heavy . Don't unnecessarily work yourself . Jason , you would make a great plumber . If you move to south east Texas, hunt me up at Davalos Plumbing , I'll take you on . You have determination and plenty of strength .

@@DiamondMinerIvins depends on how fast a plumber becomes as well as not making mistakes. Currently, I bill $120.00 per journeyman but much of that is eatin by uncle Sam, business expenses, insurance policies , it's a long list of expenses . So , the short of it , a typical journeyman or an over qualified apprentice can pull $30.00 plus per hour .

But you handled it like ah honest gentleman and if you dont give them ammunition then you have nothing to worry about. You are better then that. Thank you for proving my faith in you! I love watching your videos, both here and at Ammonite Creek. I'm an RN who loves geology, history, etc and prior to a spinal cord injury that ended my career and most of my fun in life, my young daughter and I did a lot of 'adventuring', including a stop at Crater of Diamonds (a kid had found a huge one after a rain the week before we were there) where we found some cool rocks (but no diamonds). Also went off the roads of Texas and found some amazing fossilized sea shells in Hill Country. Point is, your channel allows me to live what I wish I could still be doing! Empty-nester now, so .... also, even small fossils and such would be awesome for people like me to buy; I checked out your e-bay store and saw the $40 shipping. Not that it's unreasonable, but on disability, there isn't even that kind of free money, unless you qualify for state supplementation, which I don't. So $100's for an amazing fossil would be incredible, and I never thought I'd be in this place at this point in my life, but I'm sure there are others who would LOVE to get a neat group of smaller crystals, minerals or fossils 🙂 thanks!

Can you imagine how much progress a person could make if they had a backhoe or excavator? I belong to a few gold prospecting clubs in Idaho and they have a bond where they can bring in heavy equipment to get down farther. Youi never no there might be a neighbor that is close to mine that has a private property that can use heavy equipment. There should be diamonds in surrounding areas in that location.

i wonder if a rounded or conical screen would be better for making centers, using the side to side shake at 90ºs to the previous shake. i wonder, as if you could use a smaller diameter screen like a regular prospecting screen with a dished bottom screen, you could theoretically make centers by using the dished screen to concentrate it into those centers. but, thats just a thought. i think to flip a deeper screen may require an insert that set into the screen to do a gentler flip so the gravels sit on the insert platter. but, a normal Saruca, wouldn't require that sort of insert method huh.

Hi Jason, glad you are back to making videos at the Crater. We got to go for 4 days last November. It hadn't been plowed for awhile and there was no gravel in the furrows. We brought our buckets of cons home and it finally warmed up enough last week to center them. No diamond this trip, but I still have the one I won from you when you did the video at the river where we had to watch for the numbers....bet you don't even remember that, its been so long ago. You handled the ranger good, but it sucks that they have to act like that. I hope he watches this video and sees that you did start out at the perimeter and not in the center like he said. I seriously hope he doesn't talk down to everyone like he did to you. Especially questioning what was in the bottle. People with attitudes like his must have a really miserable life. Jesse has put a spark into you that is nice to see and she sure is cute. Do you make your own sarukas too?
