It was a Kappa that Reggie saw! They're known for either being very mischievous to women and children, while also being very polite. If you bow to one it is believed in Japan that it'll bow back. They also are believed to love cucumbers, eggplants, and pumpkins. Japan's government takes there existence very seriously and they even place warning signs for Kappas in areas where they were spotted.
