Not gonna lie, been on both sides of that coin. I learned better as I grew up, and side with empathy and being kind most of the time. I save the bully part of me as my boundary enforcer/defense mechanism. I own that sometimes I can be a heinous b*tch, but it took alot to get me to go there as a younger person, now my peace is more important, so she's on quite the hair trigger right now. I give what I get, so step kindly, ill be kind, pull a jerk move, say hi to my enforcer. It took alot of work not to be a doormat, im not going to play that role for anyone anymore.

And it doesn't get better. My mother is 88. She has been narcissistic, paranoid, hostile, and aggressive for longer than I've been alive, and she was recently diagnosed with dementia, which means take all the stuff that already existed and put it on steroids. No self awareness, and she has never had to face consequences. She blames me for the diagnosis and for the DMV revoking her license. She's about to end up in a home, and that's going to be my fault, too. I've been trying to help, because I'm the only one left to help, but I'm done.

If you were bullied as an adolescent/teen, you can smell bullies a mile away. You learn real quick to not pity them, you avoid them. 9 times out of 10, when they're finally stood up to, they generally back down. Imho, kids/teens/adults who are bullies are missing, or missed, some kind growth in their basic personal or maturity development...be it experiencing and learning empathy, humility, humanity; responsibility/accountability, understanding cause and effect, the ability to weigh reason and logic, understanding fantasy from reality....there's a myriad of reasons and combinations it could be; and every person is different. Let alone the very real damage and trauma it can cause...sometimes for lifetimes, for both the victim and the bully. That's why I've never understood why parents and schools don't take the problem of bullying way more seriously with young children. Unaddressed, many grow into older and bigger bullies. And the bullies victims need help, as well. Very damaging. Also, bullies don't always from 'bad' parenting/parents...it's just that something was missed somewhere that the child needed and didn't develop.
@Ketowski2 күн бұрын
Because it’s abuse and that’s not taken seriously in the greater society until it’s extreme. Prevention is less lucrative and the biggest social currency is money, not good relationships. Gee, wonder why that is?!

He’s been doing it all his life and gotten away with it because he’s a Silver Spoon and it’s a Two-Tiered justice system. If you want to know how it developed, look at Mary Trump’s most recent book or videos about it on her channel.

True. There’s a whole religion that develops and promotes that dynamic. Representatives of close associates were at Trump’s MSG rally. Grant Cardone and Nation of Islam. The organization managed the greatest infiltration of the American government in history. Then they fairgamed the IRS. Into getting their tax exempt status back. Much like Trump and Musk are operating.

I'm 74, and I'm amazed at how fast we are becoming what we fought not to be. If I remember correctly we fought a war against being under a kings thumb. I know they want to take us back, but damn it's only good for the king and his money making friends; for the rest of us serfs not so much. Burning books, preachers wanting to burn witches, all benefits from companies gone except lousy insurance that you have to help pay for but only for what you can afford, if you need dental, glasses or mental health well that cost extra. If they can get us back to being able to work and actually afford to pay for our houses, cars and the other things in life you need without going bankrupt like you used to be able to, then great. But the way we're going they should be talking about building debter's prisons at this point and putting our children out in the fields to replace the people they're going to deport. Rest assured once the kingship starts deciding what is best for you, as in health care for women, thats only the start.

As a person who is autistic and has been bullied. (People have no idea the isolation and bullying autistic people bare.) Luckily as a kid; I was able to fight back enough, that mostly they left me alone. In today's society, the autistic child who fights back often gets the blame for defending themselves. And people wonder why autistic people have a greater sense of fairness and rail against that which is not. I don't feel bad at all for any adult bully. they are grown and should know better. They are the people who should have gotten the message that that is not ok. They need a good trip out behind the woodshed.
