I gave away the last one, but I don’t think I can afford to do this one as much as I’ve got into it.

That truck is awesome! 1954 & early 55 had that grill. The other main differences from earlier Advance Design trucks was the one piece windshield and flat bed rails. 1954 was also the first for the 235 in trucks. Yours has a 216. Judging by the butchered rad support, it might have had an engine swap. Probably a V8, which would require a different bellhousing and engine mounts. Cheap custom rads weren't available decades ago. If the only swap was to the 216, maybe they butchered the support to make getting the engine out easier. These engines are heavy and who knows what they had for tools. I have a 1949 with a 250 and a 54 3/4 ton dually tow truck w/235.

Why not just pull the starter and clean it up? Its free unless you charge yourself for your own labour?

Yes, I probably should have, but I just picked up one at bat O’Reillys that matched and bolted right on

In the next video, I’ll show you the rest of the stuff I’ve done to it. I got it cleaned up pretty good and running nicely few more mechanical things, and then I’m gonna go to some of the worst of the body work without ruining the patina.
