I actually think that Hardison was really just freaked out from the very previous job they did in the Hot Potato Job where Parker nearly got her hands frozen off when trying to crack the safe/vault in that episode, and given Hardison's reaction to such a near occurrence, it is very likely. So he built Parker 2000 to largely assist Parker in such possible dangerous circumstances.

I loved Hardison's Reservoir Dogs strut with his hoody up. His clothes would have been my choice for a Reservoir Dogs strut. Hahahaha. Parker and Hardison are so awesome together. And gotta love how Eliot has his own personal nurse to kiss his booboos. ^_~
