Honestly - and this is still somewhat shocking, almost identical? I like the flow through of the OC, but the shave is very close to the same for me between them both. Atleast for me. Thank you for the question and for tuning in!

The Parker blades are my favorite! Got some with the purchase of a Parker razor about two years ago and now use nothing else in my safety razors.

Great video as always! I've been looking at open comb razors for a while and I think I may give this one a pop. It would have been nice if you would have shown it's strength by shaving off your beard. If I let my head or my face go for a week an open comb would be perfect. I like the way you are marketing. Parker. I'm sure they picked you for that reason. You really have their marketing departments back. Keep up the good work bro.

My beard!!!??? That is a "Halloween only" event that actually freaks my brain out most days. My wife is also "not a fan" that my costume lasts more than a day with my baby face 🤣🤣 Howi, the owner of Parker and Super Safety Razors, has always been a company I've respected. They offer products at a reasonable price, through channels that are easy to use, allowing for an end user to experience the art without breaking the budget. I've always seen them as the Goliath of shaving and to get to spotlight their razor was a tremendous opportunity. Still a bit baffled by it to be honest 👍 Thank you for the comment and for being apart of the channel my friend!

Depends on the Slant, but I am a believer that any Wetshaving gift MAKES A GREAT ONE! 😂👍❤️ The truth is that for most people wet shaving is an adjustment, and it will take some patience regardless of the razor - but it's worth it in the long run for sure. Awesome of you to give such a nice gift

I'm into Open comb safety razor's atm, will add to the list. Wonder if Parker have an Open comb Slant in the pipeline?.......I have a Closed comb Slant, but find that it's very aggressive whatever blade I put in it, unlike my Yaqi and Merkur Slant's. Great shave and insightful, although I have found myself breathing inbetween your word's, lol, take a breath Subie (slowed play speed down to 0.75, as was breathless half way through) 😅🕉

I have not heard of a OC Slant by Parker, but I could definitely imagine it being a concept worth trying. Their Semi-Slant always seems to get the reputation of being aggressive, so I would imagine if they did a OC it may be similar. Thank you for joining me!!! Great Josh! I have to say your thumbnail and photos at the beginning, really elevated this razor. It's really a pretty cool OC design and kind of reminds me of the Le Coq caged head OC, except it's adjustable. Finally someone got smart and turned the teeth around so you don't have to worry about the teeth scraping across the skin. I also think because this has the same DNA as the Merkur Progress, that a lot of the custom parts could be used with this. It would be a good candidate for a full on custom, cerakote, turned handle, custom knob. Frankenrazor with the Pearl? My black cerkote Shield Stomper already showed up and I've had a shave with it. It's surprisingly mild, yet it was efficient. I don't know if it stomped the Thorn though, I'll have to have some more shaves with it. It might be a good one for my head-shaving friend and I could get the Stando Jaga, but who knows.

Exactly like the Le Coq adjustable I have!! I have to be careful when making that comparison though, my one video got "reported" for swearing. 😭🤣 The teeth are impossible to feel, honestly it feels exactly like the flat bar, just with slightly better flow through. Quite a nice shaver to be honest. I am planning a Frankenstein version with this one hahahahahah we'll see what happens. Thanks so much for joining me my guy!

What’s the actual point of open comb? I’ve read that it isn’t necessarily more efficient but what’s the point if that’s true?

You've read correctly! Open comb does not mean "more aggressive" nor does it shave better or worse than a flat bar technically.. Typically you will find a OC variation to have slightly more blade feel as the lather flows through the bar, letting the blade contact the skin closer. This also prevents buildup and makes shaving longer hair easier. Historically, the OC was marketed as a way tob"cut through dense, not very slick, shave soap" however with today's excellent software I find them to be more for beard shaping and 5+ days shaves where hair typically likes to clog flat bars. I’ve personally found OC razors to be hazardous to my face…. The regular Parker Variant works great for me, and one of my favorite razors.
