Sam, greetings from Arizona. Thanks for another awesome video. The footage is absolutely beautiful and so clear. It's awesome to see another hobbies have a great respect for his fish. They should be loved and cared for just as much as a dog or cat. Keep up the great Sam. Rob, absolutely amazing tanks and I really can't wait to see the fish only tank again soon!!!!

The second aquarium is cool, I loved the angel fish. I have a 200 gal tank, only fish with coralline algae on all the rocks. It looks luxurious over time. The only thing that needs to happen is that tank matures and becomes full of coralline, that tsnke with kh. tall and good lighting you will have coralina I hope you see my videos. I also have a very good aquascaping, I tried it, that is good in the aquarium to have good circulation, greetings, I hope to see more videos of that angel fish tank 💯👌

@@ParkersReef Hey Sam, do you think they will ever go the route of having a model that comes braced?

they do a braced tank in the freshwater side of things, and custom is always an option :)

Great video Sam! Thanks for sharing Rob! The wrasse at 21.50 in the video looks to be a Dusky Wrasse (Halichoeres marginatus). Not so sure of the big wrasse you were discussing before it though.

I may be wrong, but just a thought on the colors. Some corals change colors depending on intensities and wavelength of UV light. From what I understand is some colors like iridescent pink are like a type of sunblock. 31:00
@ParkersReefАй бұрын
Interesting. How would one go about manipulating the colours with light to what they want?
@marinetechknjАй бұрын
@ParkersReef I'm trying to locate the article and presentation I read on the effects of UV light, and I'll post it here. Below is one response from the author showing some of his data. The author is Dana Riddle Coral Pigment Name Activator Transition Pigment Clade Dendronephthya sp. Dendra Blue Light @ 488nm Green to Red D Dendronephthya sp. DendFP UV-A at 366nm Green to Red D Favia favus Kikume UV & Violet (350-420nm) Green to Red D Lobophyllia hemprichii Eos UV @ 390nm/Violet Light ~400nm Green to Red D Montastraea annularis UV/Violet Light Green to Red D Montastraea cavernosa mcavRFP UV/Violet Light Green to Red D Trachyphyllia geoffroyi Kaede UV - Violet Light (350-410nm) Green to Red D Here's the info from my data base. Note all are from Clade D fluorescent proteins. I do not have any information on other color transitions in other corals.

Rob will respond, but there is a plastics place in Melbourne that sells them. I will say they are not cheap though..
@robertverzin1235Ай бұрын
Hi. I got them through Melro in Melbourne. The opaque colour was a special order. And they deliver too
@Mark-hb2zyАй бұрын
I'd get some macro algae in that fish only :) would look much nicer than all the brown and green crud grows with no snails to cuc to eat it
@ParkersReefАй бұрын
Yes it’s in there now (although in the sump, not the display like you’re suggesting). The tank was just going through its ugly phase so will look much cleaner soon
@Mark-hb2zyАй бұрын
@@ParkersReef tank looks lovely anyway, just think macro algae massively neglected in the hobby, especially when you're not putting corals in a tank :) algae is always going to be a challenge when you've got fish like puffers so why not embrace it by growing nice looking algae's :) This is making me remember my dad's reef tank in the late 80s very early 90s (I was like 6 😆). Just nems, macro algae, gorgonians and all the crazy stuff that came in the live rock, still looked awesome without all the proper corals :) the tech is too boring for us modern reefers though 😁

Coral selection, gear and especially the fish…. Wow, What a tank! That middle ledge could make for a great grafted Monti and highly recommend throwing a bit of GSP or some aggressive Zoa in that fish only to help with some Bio removal as well. It seems nutty, but as those fish get bigger and bigger that nutrient export is so nice to have and really helps the overall load, kinda fresh water mentality in a way. Well done Sam😎👍
