I lived in Needham, Massachusetts in the middle 80's and me and some friends saved a gigantic snapping turtle the size of a tire rim. His shell was cracked from being hit but we got him back to the water and it took off. Not sure if it survived but it had a better chance being at home instead of upside down on a road. Helping animals shows a mans true character

Years ago, I saw a turtle in the street and circled the block to see if I could save it. By the time I got back around, there was a lady in front of me and at the last second she swerved to run over the turtle. It was clearly intentional. Some people are just garbage. Actually, tortoises are turtles. But not all turtles are tortoises. That one was a box turtle, and does go on land and in water both.
