This is what Assassins Creed games would have been like if they kept advancing their AC Unity parkour system 👌
@surreptitious032 ай бұрын
nah i would say moreso the og ac1-rev movement due to it having more granular control over what you would do, this just takes that and bumps it up to 11 while taking unity's flowy animations
@MrAgentwiggles2 ай бұрын
@@surreptitious03nah bro they could’ve definitely done something amazing like STORROR’s parkour animations and still kept it flowy, look at how crisp it looks and it’s only in early development; 10/10

every day ubisoft gets to keep the rights to that game series and never improve it is an insult to god
@chiruchan64Ай бұрын
@@duncancreamer8251 yeah, now that i think about it it's crazy the direction they went for the series. I really wish they had focused on making it more parkour focused, like, being an actual assassin's that roams through rooftops and silently stalks their target. Instead they went full on Action RPG with a side mechanic of being able to climb shit. I'm not saying the last games are "bad" per se, but i just feel they went the more generic and safe way possible (like every other ubi franchise), innovation be damned i guess.

Honestly imma get both and use them for my animations where my OC does crazy amount of parkour. Unlike most studios where they start off having their protagonist having some cool moves and later are washed down to save time, imma keep her moving and even add more and more advanced moves. Games like these help me with visualization and to make proper scenes.

Something in between would be nice. Rooftops & Alleys looks stupid fast. Like no weight whatsoever, but Storror looks too slow to be fun
@nathannicholson2933Ай бұрын
I think Storror has a bit of an uphill struggle to be honest because of it trying to be the more realistic option of the pair. I played an alpha build a year or two back and it didn't feel fluid or responsive enough. The gameplay footage here looks much better to what I played, so I can only imagine this is a later build. But every movement needs to be bang on point and feel completely seamless. That's one thing that R&A does well. It allows you to keep up the flow and do a really long run. I understand that in real life a long run isn't really possible, but a game should be able to do that with no problem which is why they absolutely need to nail the fluidity and responsiveness of each button press and movement.

I feel like there could be a middle ground, if they added a bit more Arcady elements to the realistic one, it would be perfect. Like being faster overall and more stylish borderline super human Stunts
@christophernoneya46352 ай бұрын
The main problem with storror imo is how it actually punishes you for using parkour. Why vault an object if its faster to go around? These flips arent impressive to see pulled off because its programmed movements, whats impressive is to see people weaving them together in creative ways and slow parkour movements go against that. I'd love to see them take inspiration from rooftops and actually speed up the player every time they pull off parkour, going fast is a natural motivator, feels good, looks good, and while less realistic fits the feeling better. Authenticity > Realism

Great vid! here's my thoughts on the games. Both give the players the following: style, technicality, scope, realism, and control SP gameplay is:- Grounded in realism, you must be very tenhincal with the controls to pull off tricks. The better your control, the more tricks you perform. RnA gameplay is:- Style over realism, you can pull off tricks pretty much anywhere at any time, giving you the fantasization of parkour but still grounded because you can't jump off a 5-10 story building and expect to roll safely on your landing. Both games differ in their approach, but they both have the same goal: to let the player express themselves through gameplay. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, I'm out.

Generally speaking PROBABLY rooftops would be funnier because people nowadays are addicted to fast stuff (see TikTok's rise with quick endless scrolling...) but Storror's looks and feels better already... which is expected since they're famous and probably have ways of spending quite a bit for such a game. Kudos to Rooftop's developer because I'd still buy it but to me the real difference will be the environment of the game. Rooftops seems to be more like Mirror's edge, vibrant, kind of utopic/futuristic, while storror I think will be more modern to this day's age. Also Rooftops is probably TOO quick and Storror probably TOO realistic, Idk if I'm making sense but something in between would've been perfect imho.
