I don't think you can get much more of a local content creator! Nice to see the familiar scenery

Well done Matt, you have a Warrior spirit. Respect. I agree, not always being lighter in bodyweight equals faster running. Strength plays a big part. However, I reckon if you could get to around 13st (which is not heavy for your height) you you would see some serious gains in running times 👍

Thank you. It's been hard this week. I can't say it's been easy with the dieting.. but my goal is around the weight you said.. i just need to get there first, then make that weight a healthy weight for me (calorie wise) 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

nice one rkid, i did Platt fields this morning in 20:59 but it was a bit muddy on the gravel behind the pond, and a bit windy, was wishing that I had done Alexandra park instead, think i coulda got a pb there, always next week. I'm 5 foot 8 and 10 stone, you would go so quick if you were 5 stone lighter lol
@MattRuns14 күн бұрын
I was going to do platt fields as well. The elevation at Alexandra just just it for me, in the end. I'll see you there sometime soon, though, no doubt. I'll be back there for another shot at it in a couple of weeks 👍🏻👍🏻

You’re looking lean Matt. Great running.

Top run that mate, if it was a pure time trial you'd have got 18:59, so you've got to take it. Might need a new challenge of a sub 19 parkrun because you always end up running 40m-100m more!
@danhunt616414 күн бұрын
I love how you ignore all the "you need to lose weight comments" cuz I'm same as you working hard I'm 14 stone the scales don't seem to move but my pbs have shifted in last 2 weeks so goes to show hard work pays off and moving heavier weight is not an issue. I weigh 14 stone btw and still getting faster. Proves we don't need to be 8 stone 😂
@pauljaffray643714 күн бұрын
Well done. 5k parkrunner app or take a screenshot of your barcode. Ours is a 3 laps and Is normally 5.07 km still did sub 19 👍

Atleast Garmin shows barcode, so really nice for parkruns

BTW Matt, as a marathon runner l’m only 2/3rds your weight, yet still struggle on hills! If you are used to running at 15+ stones, losing weight will make you think you are flying!

@ it took me a while to work it out, but yes, total game changer, it’s amazing! Well done on the run too - really brilliant to see you enjoying your running again. Hope the alphaflys were ok in the wet 😳

@danhunt616414 күн бұрын
Matt you know you can just go back on site and screen shot your barecode? But I get what you mean park run doesn't always come as 5k it is like yes got it but does it count 😂

Wait, so did you beat 19 mins or not? What's that 22 seconds extra about? Confused. Do you mean the Park Run guys had it measured wrongly?
@MattRuns14 күн бұрын
No mate, my time was 19.21, but there was still 100m to run when my watch hit 5k, so bitter sweet haha

I ran Alexandra Parkrun today after a few months off. My slowest on this course ever! A 24! Got to train and find lost 5 minutes. I found the leaves masked where parts of the path went, so had to take a slightly longer route. That’s my excuse! A friend of mine managed a pb and first lady finisher with a 18, so it couldn’t have been as slow as l thought! Couldn’t you have taken a screenshot of your barcode and used that? 👍
@MattRuns14 күн бұрын
@chrisdavies9969 cheers mate, i did screenshot it, then left my phone in the car because i didn't want my keys scratcing it in the same pocket 😆. I have found out now that you can get the barcode downloaded onto your garmin 👍🏻
@georgeyboy525614 күн бұрын
No but most people never take the shortest route, always hard to when you're dodging obstacles.
