What a guy.. I'm totaly new to wakeboarding but I'm also obcessed by it as I was to snowboarding prior to moving to a place without snow. Love to see how much a single person can do for a sport. Amazing movie.

54:41, man heartbreaking. Met parks a few times when he was at Wakestock up in Canada, we were shooting it for SBC and he was (is) just the most gracious dude. He was a star at the time, but seeing him in person, I was doing most of behind the boat shooting.....just couldn't help but gasp at the stuff he landed. The speed and energy of his style ... just no words. Was stoked to see this, most of that crew were at Wakestock events and it's rad to see them all these years later, where they ended up since 2003.

I’m all in on that “No Fear” sticker Parks had on the wakeboard he has when he gets his first tournament win at wakeboarding. I had few No Fear brand things then as well. I recall a t-shirt, black beanie, and a sticker on my 82 or 83 Yamaha YZ 60 (only made them for two or three years) baby two stroke dirt bike. My mom made me take off my mismatched Kawasaki branded sticker that said “Kawasaki. My balls are made of titanium”. This high school dude that had a KX 500 and a blue 94-95 Mustang GT that hung out with another guy his age that lived next door at the time had the same exact sticker on his new and insane KX 500 and I thought he was THE ABSOLUTE COOLEST ever so I snuck around and ordered it from a magazine or possibly bought it when Dad wasn’t looking at the motorcycle dealership. I was so bummed. Dan Shipiro was so good but man we hated him like he was the police or something. I think it was a bit unfair and I don’t recall anyone skipping past his section of “All or Nothing” my favorite wakeboard movie and reason for a lot of concussions, a bad knee I didn’t tear but instead stretched repeatedly because it wouldn’t heal over winter without proper therapy (nope I didn’t) and old man pain now that I’m 41. I sucked but not for a lack of effort and could get pop, hit the wake at speed ,and therefore jump hight that was far better than my skills at everything else. I don’t remember landing by downsiding the wake after the first summer .. na all flat water. We figured out how the dudes who really know what they’re doing drive double ups and then (unfortunately now) how to get over those first two rollers and into the third as the wakes intersect and blow up. At first I remember just going down into the trough that happens as the wakes are coming together and instead of riding up the double up wake just plowing straight into it. Not painful but it was a strange feeling as everything involved in learning how to hit Dbbl ups seemed at least to me. Ah hell id do it all over again if I had the chance and only let off a little steam to save from a few injuries. I’m past the riding days and out of shape and fat now.. it sucks and you miss being in your late teens and twenties but those 18-25 year old girls the most. Females all gravitate towards almost anything with a tower on it and even those wannabe WB boats that aren’t even ski boats let alone wakeboard boats so it’s never hard to fill the seats. It’s crazy being like you swore you couldn’t and sure as hell wouldn’t let yourself ever possibly turn into but thats life. Might be motivation to try a little diet and workout but I bet I forget about my ole glory days soon and all about working out or eating right until next time it resurfaces. Sorry I thought I’d tell my life’s story as I know everyone loves reading what I type laughing as I sound exactly like the old fart I am. Slightly delusional about the good old times I’m sure.

Parks has mad good skills, but everyone knows he became a self-centered jerk after the age of 15 - his parents probably wished they didn't let him join the men's circuit. This doc glosses over what a jerk he has become.
