Over the years I have bought a shedload of Parkside bits n bobs, as soon asi get them home I personalise them, with paint or a maker pen. I cover up the P, K, I & D for fun 😁

Thanks Phill, it's good to know that these are the tools you've retained as you're happy with them. I wish they keep items in stock for longer as I don't often have the opportunity to visit a store as there are none near where I live. Tbh most of the tools are fine for a DIYer and usually pretty good value too, but if you're a tradesperson or experienced user and appreciate quality tools it's nice to upgrade to better tools over time !

@@andyc972 Cheers Andy 👍🏻 yea most parkside tools are good for DIY use although I don't know about trade use.

The Parkside tools which phill viewed look reasonable quality to use if its DIY or trade used , all tools don't last if misused.

Sometimes you need a tool that you will probably never need again, these tools are ideal. But, you may one day, and you've got them at a fraction of the price! 👍
@PhillWyattProjects9 күн бұрын
@@tgsgardenmaintenance4627 yea at these prices one can justify buying the tool even if it's for a one off type job.

Only whinge i've got is with the straight edge and saw guide. They are 2" short of being able to mark or clamp on a standard 8x4 sheet of material. Same thing with the plunge saw, could have made the guide rail couple of inches longer to enable ripping 8ft. Be nice if they would offer an extra section of rail as an extra. While I'm at it their cordless jigsaw must be the most vibey power tool ever made.

Phil, thanks for sharing. The pry bars are excellent, and great value. Likewise, the rasps and files are good value. Alas, the straight edge cutting guide is absolutely terrible. Even the slightest lateral pressure - exactly what is needed to keep the cut on track - results in drift, as the guide has almost no holding power. This results in failure and extra cost in wasted material. I keep seeing the set of squares on your tool wall. Well, I bought the same set many years ago. Again, totally crap! Mine were easily 12mm out of square on the length of the respective squares. There did seem to be some room for adjustment, but not that much. Rather than bin them, I decided to drill out the square section, and use them as rulers. Long story short: with a sheet of bog-standard MDF costing somewhere south of £30 - let's not talk about hardwood - by all means, pick up a couple of cheap and cheery drill/drivers, or chisels - but for Goodness’ sake, spend a wee bit more on setting out and measuring tools!

The measurement angles and square's should be the same what ever you pay for .

I don't know about that. I have had a range of different quality speed squares and set squares over the years.
