I use to faint a lot when I was younger and I would get really hot and dripping sweat, dizzy, weak, my ears would ring loudly and I couldn’t hear very well things just sounded very fuzzy, it sucks and it’s not fun at all!

Fainting sucks! It happened to me once and was very frightening. I got very hot out of nowhere and felt as if all of the energy in my body left immediately (hard to describe it). I ended up walking a few feet before eventually collapsing.

If someone is about to faint and they know it, and they manage to tell you in good time (because their legs may have stiffened-up, they feel hot suddenly, their hearing has gone distant and their head starts to swim), quickly lay them down on their back and lift their feet/ legs up to about a 45-degree angle i.e. definitely higher than their head. If you hold their legs there it should prevent the person fainting, but it depends how far they've gone towards it. Trust me, it's much better than the old-school approach of sitting down with your head between your knees, although I appreciate that it may not be possible to get someone on the floor quick enough if they are very old or obese. How do I know about this? A surgeon told me, but that wasn't until I'd fainted 30+ times during my lifetime (that is not an exaggeration btw; I've fainted 3 times in the past year alone). Actually, the raised-legs thing is probably a good idea even after someone has fainted, because it will get blood back to the brain quicker. When they start coming round you may want to lower the legs though, so that the person can just lie comfortably. And it's probably best to turn their head to the side or put them into the recovery if feasible, just in case they vomit from shock. You could loosen their clothing (neck ties, top buttons) and take any headwear off too. Personally, my own fainting is usually down to 'white coat syndrome' or Googling medical stuff, but for others it can be due to general anxiety about a situation they're in, or excess heat. It's not a bad idea to give the person a drink of water afterwards, but if you know them and/or you're sure that it's not a problem allergy/ intolerence-wise, you could get them a Mars bar or something sweet to eat, just in case the episode was due to a sugar crash. It will likely help to pep them up regardless, however don't try and sit the person up too quickly; they may need five or ten minutes lying still before they feel up to moving. Once they've recovered they should be able to move normally, although they may feel somewhat drained. While someone is fainting it is normal for them to sweat profusely, their eyes may flicker/ roll or even stay open, but they should come out of it enough that they're able to respond and talk to you within a couple of minutes. If they don't, then it could be a fit or something more serious, so you may have to consider medical intervention.

Hey guys I faint on the regular and if any of you have questions on how to care for someone who faints or completely passes out reply here! I’m happy to help! And if there’s any one who relates to me I’d love to hear from you! I have reactive hypoglycemia. That means my body produces too much insulin and it eats up all the glucose in my body and doesn’t leave any for my brain. This leaves me feeling confused, anxious, and tired followed by excessive sweating, dizziness, nausea, and then I faint. For me “fainting” is never passing out fully, best way to describe it is a half state of consciousness. Everything will go white and fuzzy, I can’t hear very well yet everything is too loud. If you cup your hands over your ears and then talk that’s basically what it sounds like. I can’t control my muscles very well. I have no concept of time so a fainting episode can be 20 minutes long and feel like a minute or vice versa. No it is not curable and absolutely nothing helps except keeping food on me at all times. Thanks for reading my paragraph! Have a great day!

Hey! Since you have experience with fainting, what exactly should I do when someone faints? There are a lot of varied answers. Should I lift the legs? Should I put some water on their face? A lot of confusion with .e.
@Lilli_DeGrey
@Lilli_DeGrey Жыл бұрын
@@parvchetri0995 all are great. If you see someone who’s about to go down try and catch them, don’t try and hold them up but definitely make sure they don’t hit their head. If they are unconscious do things to stimulate them like rubbing their arm or hand. Saying things like “hey my name is …. And I’m here to help, hey you need to try and stay awake, I know you want to go to sleep but you need to wake up” they should come around. Elevate their feet and you can rub their calves to to try and stimulate their brain so they wake up. When they come around, explain what happened, try and get them to sit up so they can get blood circulation and try and get them to eat, a sucker, a candy, a granola bar, juice… etc. just remind them that they are ok and safe and make sure you call 911 if they are not waking up under 15 seconds, or if they are seizing or dead. If the person wakes ask if they need medical because I personally do not want medical called.

hi! i’ve been very close to fainting a few times due to my low blood pressure. the worst it’s gotten where i’ve sweated, got hot, blurry vision and i would see colors. somewhat of hearing going out but not really. i’ve never fainted tho. what do i do in case i do faint? any aftercare? if i’m home alone?
@Lilli_DeGrey
@Lilli_DeGrey 3 ай бұрын
@@innerpeace-n8l hey hey! If you feel it coming on, it’s important to lie down or do the Asian squat (it increases blood flow to your brain) and contact someone who can reach you quickly or make sure you end up alright. If you’re really worried, don’t be afraid to call paramedics, it’s their job to help! Aftercare would be eating something, drinking water, and lying down. Fainting can leave you feeling weak for awhile after so it’s important to take it slow and be patient with your body! If you’re home alone make sure to text or call someone and let them know what’s going on, lie down on the floor or your bed, and take deep breaths and focus on yourself. Something’s that help me when I feel that I’m going to faint is picking an object and focusing on it, and counting to ten. The most important things here are communication with someone, and protecting your body from injuries if you faint. Let me know if you’re worried about anything else!

I just experienced fainting for the first (and hopefully last) time yesterday. I just got out of the shower then I started feeling tired out of nowhere, trying to catch my breath resting my head on the counter. I tried to get my clothes on but I started feeling dizzy. My vision then got pretty blurry and dark and I couldn't hear anything then I just woke up lying against my bathroom door. I hurried to get my clothes and phone out of my bathroom and hurried to my room because I didn't know what the hell was going on, but then my vision got blurry again, and I fell onto my bedroom door. However I made it into my room but I just fell on my bed instantly. Luckily I didn't faint a second time in a row.

1. You should rise her legs that the blood in the legs can pass through the brain, 2. Stand her head right side, then check her pulse, when she wakes up spill some cologne in her face that she breathes cold, that will help her sober up, Don't try to give the person anything to eat or drink, not even water, until they are fully conscious, then give some water. She may then have headache, because she'll probably bump her head somewhere, don't panic, it'll be alright, it just happened to me a few days ago...

I heard my dad collapse in another room. I watched him stood up and faint again. I didn't know what to do. His eyes were open but he was unresponsive. He was laying on his side and was too heavy for me to move. All I could do was call for help, and watch his breath and heartbeat hoping that today was not the day I lose somebody. After a few minutes, his consciousness came back and it was as if nothing happened. In the 21 years of my life, that was my firsthand experience in dealing with that scenario, and to top it off it was a close family member. It made me realize how uneducated I was in the matter. All those lectures in high school about it went over my head

iI'll add a couple of things here. One of the things you can do to help is get something to put under their legs and raise them up. This will help get more blood flow to the brain. The other thing is this: There's a lot said here about giving people water and in some situations that's a good thing. DO NOT give anyone anything to eat or drink unless they are fully conscious.

@Baker1777 If it's a head injury then yes call the ambulance. However, a lot of people faint from simple dehydration or a temporary drop in blood pressure. So the dr starts talking to him and the next thing I knew the dr was up in my face 😂 everything happened so quick. I felt a little off and was trying to shake it off but I went from 1-100 in a matter of seconds. It was like when it all hit at once I couldn’t move nor speak I just slumped over. Here’s my fainting experiences!Once I got an MRI, and the whole time my mom was looking down at me. When I was done I got up and as the nurse was talking to us she fell, open eyed, straight back into her arms. Apparently she was unresponsive, and about 9 other people rushed into the room. Traumatic.. Another time we were outside putting up Christmas decor when I looked over at my dad, and he was on the floor kinda laying down, on the sidewalk. I ran over to him and got his phone. I called my mom, and she took him to the hospital. We didn’t know what was going on, and the doctors didn’t know either. I cried all night until I knew he was ok. (No one knows what happened…..) Today we were at a roller coaster park (just me and my sister) and I was talking to her when we were in a line. I was on my phone and noticed she didn’t respond. She kinda looked through me and took a few steps back. She then fell flat on her back, onto the floor. The whole line stopped and looked at her. Somebody started to dial 911, and another person screamed “SHES HAVING A SEIZURE” (I couldn’t tell if she was twitching?) my heart literally stopped. About 30 seconds later she sat up (I don’t think anyone called 911 all the way) We made sure to get her water, and I was a crying mess on the way home. (I was having flashbacks to the last two incidents) Due to the heat it had to be a heat stroke. They were all super scary, and I really hope nothing ever happens to you guys 🙏

she is already halfway to the ground when sitting. Why have her stand up? If possible just go immediately down. standing up can hasten a fainting. Then you have to catch them.

My symptoms of fainting is first waking up with my stumach tucked in alot, Idk why then later I would feel shoulder and back pain with nausea then shaky legs and cold sweats and eventually things get blurry then dark and I can't hear much anymore then blackout. I only experienced it 2 times before but this is my early symtoms

I fainted and it’s hard to describe but my legs felt numb and then I all I saw was black and I woke up a few seconds later and my parents say that it was 30 seconds and that my eyes were open and that I was stiff I also fell backwards and they asked some questions and one of the questions were what were you going downstairs to get and I couldn’t remember. It’s super scary and the some of the doctors said it might have been a seizure. Some seizures you don’t shake.

I love to make fun of myself on this story! I threw out my back n was bed ridden for about 3 days straight, but was still eating like normal. Well after a few days nature (#2) called so I crawled (cause of my back) to the bathroom and started doing my biz (#2). After about 10 seconds I woke up on the ground. I had fainting! Well yes my boxers were around my ankles and yes my legs had 💩 all over them. Tried to clean myself best I could n crawled into the shower. Needless to say that’s was an interesting call to my wife at work...😂 Next time I want Celina to make a house call to help me 😏.

2-4 slaps to the cheeks wake up most women. Alternatives - splashing cold water in the face, smelling salts. Then raise their feet to increase blood circulation to the head.
