I’m buying acres in the sky • And building stairs with every lie • With every step I make her cry • Until I die, until I die • I’m swinging hard for all my life • Reaching across this great divide • Until I see the other side • Until I die, until I die • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows dark, darker still • I’m swimming deep into her eyes • I’m swimming strong, but won’t survive • The dark, the blue, I cannot fight • Until I die, until I die
I’m wishing hard upon the night • With every wish, a new star dies • But bright, the light behind her eyes • Until I die, until I die • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows dark • Until I die, until I die • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows darker still • And the night grows dark.

Been listening to you guys since I was 16. I’m 31 now. Saw you live when I was in high school. “Parkway Drive” also was my senior quote under my photo in the yearbook. I did reports on you for multiple classes in multiple grades. You were also in my “senior project”. Lastly… my father has a friend in Byron Bay. So we asked him to take a photo of Parkway Drive and he sent it to me. I had it blown up and framed. This was probably 10 years ago. I still have it despite moving like 7 times. MORAL OF THE STORY: I’m a huge fan. Huge huge.

This sums it up pretty well. It's almost like A Deathless Song but more emphasis on acoustics, which I dig. It seems like melodic metal bands out there need to have a softer tone to even things out from the aggressive/heavy stuff. Since Parkway's switched to this melodic metal direction, I've always said that they should take some influences from the band Insomnium...aggressive, yet when they want to go softer, it sounds like it fits the mould and isn't forced. Downside to this song was the vocals, autotune was way to noticeable for my liking.

I know a lot of people understandably rag on them for leaving behind their early sound BUT the guitar work here is so good you can’t really rip on these guys. Might not be “heavy” by today’s standards but the throwback sound is pretty dope. I welcome this style from having years of ear fatigue of hearing the same stuff over and over. I do still hope there’s a super heavy track hiding on the album but ya gotta take off the metalcore glasses and respect the musicianship here.

This song droppet shortly after my Grandpa and Dog died. It helped me through a very Dark time in my life and i really thought that i had copped with all that happend then. Last weak i heard it live for the first time at the Parkwaves Festival in Dresden, Germany and it brought everything back like a suckerpunch in the face. I know now that i have to sit down again and think again about everything, because i shoved all this into the back of mind so i don't have to deal with it. I have to Thank Winston and the rest of the Band again for creating this Song and helping me through hard Times again.
