Chewing betelnut in Papua New Guinea...

Chewing betelnut is an extremely addictive habit that the majority of people in Papua New Guinea partake in. It is a strong stimulant, and can have quite a few adverse health effects long term. It is completely legal, and available every 20m down the street, but some people cannot function without chewing multiple throughout the day. If one was to have a vice, I guess this is more favorable than alcohol. Our curiosity got the better of us, but we had very mixed results 😬

those stills show the teeth of people who have been chewing betel nut for years without brushing. You can still enjoy betel nuts to the full extent by brushing your teeth as normal at the end of the day. Chewing once will never result in your teeth looking like those stills - these are frequent long-time users. Chewing betel nut is common right thru se asia and also in india. Slight variations on how they consume the nut but its all done for the same effects.
