I grew up a funkateer my older cousins listen to all the funk in the early to late 70's I was between 5/13 so I have an appreciation for the music & musician for their creativity

When listening to Parliament should always be thinking funk vs. Disco. Parliament was always thinking Disco was the commercial form of music, and Disco was unfunky.

“F.U.N…..k” The most essential part of funk IS FUN. And, you two seem to have loads of it enjoying this classic. In the seventies, no party was complete without some P-Funk in the music lineup. I hope you dive deeper into their catalogue. If you haven’t already, I think Funkadelic’s “Cosmic Slop” deserves a spin also. I was seventeen when this album came out in 1978; and, it was the first time that I heard the words “urge-overkill” paired together. So, yeah. I’d be willing to bet money that it’s where the band got its name from.
