UPDATES & RANDOMNESS: Since I realize that people "number" cruise days differently, and Reading Jay isn't entirely sure which method of numbering he ended up using this time around, here's a recap of our timeline with actual dates: -Sat 7/31 through Sat 8/7 first cruise, no issues -Sat 8/7 back-to-back day, no issues -Sun 8/8 first sea day, no issues -Mon 8/9 Cozumel, no issues other than Dee getting pool water in her nose -Tue 8/10 Costa Maya, spa day, first mild symptoms presented that evening during Deal Or No Deal, mild throat tickle and some overall achiness, we decided to leave the show and head to bed early as a precaution -Wed 8/11 Mahogany Bay, symptoms were still cold/flu-like with no obvious COVID triggers but had improved overnight, worsened again after breakfast burritos, canceled our excursion, decided to self-quarantine in our cabin the rest of the day -Thu 8/12 second sea day, symptoms again cold/flu-like with no obvious COVID triggers and again improved, ventured out of the room that morning masked, still trying to avoid people and stay outside as much as possible, then returned to the cabin, during the "paid room service" session that evening is when Dee first noted the sudden complete loss of smell & taste -Fri 8/13 third sea day, Jay ventured out solo to get burritos, decided that we would call for a test that day, packed our suitcases, tested, spent the rest of the day filling out forms and talking to doctors, moved to quarantine room that evening -Sat 8/14 debarkation morning, exited the ship using the approved crew elevators and exits Some of the main questions that we might not have addressed, that didn't apply directly to us... -If someone tested positive during a port day rather than a sea day, I *believe* you would be escorted off the ship rather than quarantining onboard, and Carnival helps to make arrangements to get you back home. -If we had tested prior to the final day of our cruise, I *believe* we would have been refunded for the portion that we were forced to quarantine, but that didn't apply to us. -From the quarantine zone, I *believe* you can order things that aren't on the standard room service menu, as we saw containers of soup on tables in the hallway, which was not a room service option.

I appreciate how transparent y'alls were in this video. I mean, you typically are, but it was especially nice to see in this situation. I'm also impressed with how on top of everything Carnival was. The only way to make sure you don't get Covid is too basically live in a bubble but most of us require interaction and experiences. I think that Dee got Covid right around the same time I did. I had to go into my office to do some training and, even though we were masked, the training equipment did not allow for distancing. Unbeknownst to her, the person I was training had Covid. I ended up getting so sick that I almost didn't make it but am thankful to still be alive. It has been a slow recovery but I have a better appreciation for things and intend to live life as long as I'm permitted to. This past July, I went to my church's annual convention that had been cancelled for 3 years. I knew the risk and took it anyway. I did get Covid again but, thankfully, it was a less intense variant and I have no regrets because it was wonderful getting to spend time with family and friends after so long. My sister got Covid on the cruise we went on in September and we had such a wonderful time that we do not regret going and are planning to do another. Basically, it's up to the individual to decide what things are important enough to them to take risks for.

We got ya' both. 100%. Jen and I are both vested and fans because of just how real and who you both are. We prepared for our first cruise in 20 years back in Nov. 2019 and found you all on KZbin. Binge watched all you had out there. Cruise was to have happened in Feb. 2020. Then all the world stood on its head! We've rescheduled 4 times and currently on for Feb of 2022. Anyway, you all and Tony and Jenny have educated, encouraged and motivated us in every way and in the most weird of ways, we feel like we are cruisers even though we haven't been in 20 years. Thank you for what you do, it can't be easy as much fun as it looks like on the viewers side. No doubt, you are real people and living through a real life situation that we are all prone to. Much respect for the way you handled this and your transparency. Stay positive and Dee, GET WELL SOON!

Love the cat. Great documentary of your journey on the Mardi Gras and all the unexpected things that occurred. No one shares of their room service experience so you turned that negative into a plus. I also appreciated the details you shared regarding the staff and their concern for you both. It really shows how they have the protocols in place and how they were utilized, from testing you two, to relocating you to a quarantine section, to the disembarkation. Great post regarding the ride back to your car in a Tesla. Praying Dee is doing well. I actually was watching your live from 8/15 and You suggested to go back to this one to learn the day by day details regarding how your cruise ended. It was great. Thanks again!

I think that it's important to note that not everyone loses their sense of taste and smell so if you have a headache, sore throat you should worry about covid. I bought a 15 minute test to bring with me on my cruise in January. I will have my booster before that but you can never be too careful. Glad Dee was vaccinated so she had a mild case.

Recently, I became a subscriber after seeing a few of your musical numbers you both had presented (Valentines Day and Christmas), as well some of the vacation videos to islands my husband and I plan to visit this up coming February on the NCL Dawn. I am so blown away by the love you both obviously have for each other. The devotion and concern you showed towards Dee throughout this video, brought tears to my eyes. I absolutely loved the part about the room service food! Thank you so much for sharing your private journey through all of this, it will help others to take away some of the scary unknowns attached to coming down with Covid while cruising. Has they say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I like to think the video of your story through this particular illness, will last a lifetime. Once again, Thank you!
