What a superb talent this band possesses. Every new release is a surprise and delight. These guys don't seem able to step wrong, and they cover all sorts of ground with impressive ability. Here's your classic "is it two songs or only one" offering. One of my favorite tracks off of the new album.

It's some really good rock and roll. I hadn't heard any since the early 2000s, and even then it was mostly overproduced and polished (the hives, the vines, the white stripes, etc then garbage like jet and the strokes ugh). Anyway, didn't know they still made it until recently. Good thing since my BJM records are starting to get scratched up and warped.

dethkon I know it’s an old comment but you gotta retract the white stripes and the strokes from that comment my guy. Even if you think the stripes albums albums are overproduced (imo they aren’t) you can’t deny they’ve got some raw live performances. Listen to feather letter in Blackpool I believe it is

@@dethkon lol if anything the strokes were underproduced. Fucking Room On Fire sounded like they recorded it in a day, which is why it sorta sounded shit (great songs but produced horribly )

Almost Had to Start a Fight* Almost, almost, almost, almost, almost had to start a fight Don't know, don't know, don't know, don't know how to react so I won't What do, what do, what do, what do you do when you are provoked? When does, when does, when does, when does, when does something stop being a joke? Caught up, caught up, caught up, caught up in our morbid modern lives Adapt, adapt, adapt, adapt to the void then if you must Into, into, into, into this perverted status quo What if, what if, what if, what if I've grown tired of being polite? Why am I searching for reason? I'm in the chaos dimension Reason's eclipsed by tension I want, I want, I want, I want not to feel numb about death Finding, finding, finding, finding peace is not an easy task Breathing, breathing, breathing, breathing to see if there's any left Reading, reading, reading, reading about how many people died and Can't someone tell me the reason? I'm in the chaos dimension Trapped in a brutal invention *In and Out of Patience* If it stops I'm, if it stops I'm, if it stops I'm having a bad dream In and out of patience I just can't keep it around Most of mine's been taken Is there a finite amount? Had a little left (But I gave it to you) Now someone's at my door (And they need some too) Lighting up my phone (Darkening my mood) And all I got left is This shit attitude At least music is playing in my head If it stops I'm, if it stops I'm, if it stops I'm having an unshakable nightmare In and out of patience Don't have enough to share Sometimes on life itself I'm neither here nor there The MTA (Took the first of it) Twenty-minute delay (Wasn't the worst of it) So hot underground (You could burn to death) Now you're right on time to take what I got left Funky music playing in my head If it stops I'm, if it stops I'm, and if it stops I'm counting on you

Hard rock is a form of loud, aggressive rock music. The electric guitar is often emphasised, used with distortion and other effects, both as a rhythm instrument using repetitive riffs with a varying degree of complexity, and as a solo lead instrument. Drumming characteristically focuses on driving rhythms, strong bass drum and a backbeat on snare, sometimes using cymbals for emphasis. The bass guitar works in conjunction with the drums, occasionally playing riffs, but usually providing a backing for the rhythm and lead guitars. Vocals are often growling, raspy, or involve screaming or wailing, sometimes in a high range, or even falsetto voice. Hard rock has sometimes been labelled cock rock for its emphasis on overt masculinity and sexuality and because it has historically been predominantly performed and consumed by men: in the case of its audience, particularly white, working-class adolescents. In the late 1960s, the term heavy metal was used interchangeably with hard rock, but gradually began to be used to describe music played with even more volume and intensity. While hard rock maintained a bluesy rock and roll identity, including some swing in the back beat and riffs that tended to outline chord progressions in their hooks, heavy metal's riffs often functioned as stand-alone melodies and had no swing in them. Heavy metal took on "darker" characteristics after Black Sabbath's breakthrough at the beginning of the 1970s. In the 1980s it developed a number of subgenres, often termed extreme metal, some of which were influenced by hardcore punk, and which further differentiated the two styles. Despite this differentiation, hard rock and heavy metal have existed side by side, with bands frequently standing on the boundary of, or crossing between, the genres.
