This mv makes me cry for some reason. Just the last part where he’s giving out flowers and everybody’s enjoying themselves makes me sad because it’s so rare lol

*LYRICS [pulled from our good friend Genius]* Hanging on a limb warm from the wind Cracking in the night just like a whip Grown up a plastic commodity Domestic rain will sanitize the scene Natural inclination Wicked, it can stack up pretty quick The soil’s got a fever! Once just letters pressed in wet cement Ink turned them to names on a debtor’s list Just loose leaves sat shakin’ in a cell While cinder blocks, they pile all around Natural inclination Left to grow and now we’re in the shade The soil’s got a fever!

I don’t disagree but this year has been a great year for new albums and new bands coming out with some really good genre pushing music. This album is definitely up there for me I especially enjoy Marathon of Anger. But this record felt loose in a good way. Just the band getting together and making some tracks they dig. I saw them at Hopscotch Music Fest in September and it was an awesome show! Enjoy them I wish I was able to catch them again this year

Great bit of filmmaking to make a dank song even danker. That feeling of emotional compromise... Jesus Christ everyone in this world needs that kind of release. To find something so overwhelmingly beautiful even the coldest people have no choice but to openly express themselves and share it... Kinda like how I felt when I first discovered Parquet Courts! Great shit guys. Can’t wait for the rest of these to drop. Edit: Me no always write good

it’s honestly so cool cuz the guy is literally the ‘fever’ talk abt in the song, but even he finds relief and joy in the beauty of nature. you get the feeling in the beginning of the video that corporate greed is how it is and always will be, but by the end it show it literally just takes a change of heart in those participating in it to change.

What stands out to me are the lyrics from Tenderness, they appear to influence the visual theme of this video. “Affectation is a drought that you wait through when you hate everything that you do you wanna live outside the groove, then fine but it’s there like a flower blooming in your ears open up your mouth; pollinate your peers”
@sentient_baby_carrot3 жыл бұрын
This album seems like a natural progression from Wide Awake, and Tenderness is where I landed on that conclusion. Lyrically, they call back - on Marathon, the lines "it's time everyone got to work / it's all community" from "power resembled if we are assembled". The way forward is by working together. But we have to connect with each other. The ending of this video is an example of that. Also, so many people said that the album clicked after seeing it live, at shows where you're connected with so many people. There's something there.
