USMC Recruit Training Phase 4
During Phase 4, the new Marines begin to transition from their roles as recruits into that of United States Marines. During this phase new Marines now call their Drill Instructors by their rank. Instead of “Sir” or “Ma’am,” it is “Sgt” or “SSgt”. The Drill Instructors continue mentoring the new Marines by conducting discussion periods on critical topics that will help the new Marines to be successful in their transition to the operational forces.
The new Marines are given more responsibility during this phase to ensure that tasks are accomplished and time hacks are met. No longer is every minute of their day managed by the Drill Instructors. Now, new Marines are given orders and expected to lead themselves to accomplishing the mission. This opportunity allows the new Marines gain a better understanding of how they will be expected to operate in the “Fleet.”
Marine Corps Battalion Commander’s Inspection
The Battalion Commander’s Inspection is the final opportunity for the new Marines to be evaluated prior to graduation. As in previous inspections, they are measured on their appearance, but more importantly, the Battalion Commander is evaluating them on their confidence, character, and whether or not they embody the Marine Corps’ Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
USMC Family Day
Marine Day 11, excited families line the streets and try to catch a glimpse of their Marine running by in formation. Family Day starts off with a motivational run, referred to as the “MOT Run” throughout the Depot. All graduating Marines run in formation while singing motivational cadence, loudly signaling successful completion of Recruit Training. As recruits run to the cadence of their Drill Instructors, parents, family members and friends line the streets and cheer as they try to find the face of their loved one among the crowd of new Marines.
After the MOT Run, the new Marines have a chance to see family and friends for the first time during on-base liberty. Graduation is conducted on Friday in a formal ceremony and parade, attended by family and friends.

You go to SOI (school of infantry) and after that a MOS school (a school that trains you for your job in the corps)

+Paul Alderson medals are for marksmanship on the range (every Marine a rifleman so every Marine will have a medal) also yes,you can get a pfc straight out of bootcamp if you get 2 referrals or did so many years of rotc or college credits,also it's well over 10 weeks of training (3 months 90+ days of training)

+i'll make u salty Thanks for that. Basic recruit training is 10 weeks in Australia followed by specialist military training. Our marksmen are recognized by crossed rifles badge on sleeve (I think) and getting 1 chevron can take 1 or 2 years. Medals are only awarded for heroism, overseas service or long service. Certainly widely different training, recognition & awards between us. Didn't mean to offend, Semper fi.

+Condor The Blue Dress Uniform (which has the option of including the khaki shirt, I think you're referring to) is used mostly in advertising-whether online, TV, or simply recruitment at high schools and colleges, it's in a way a symbol. It's also required for certain official roles, most famously Marine Sentries at the White House. For graduations, however, the uniform can either be Blues or Service, the Service Uniform was simply chosen for this graduation. In other scenarios which require dressing up, the Marine will be required to wear one or the other, and there are specific purposes for both. For example, a court martialed Marine wears the Service Uniform (think Oliver North during the Iran/Contra trial).
