BACKSTORY FOR WHATUPRG's verse: Here from the crew interview w the new indie tribe kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIS7m32pj6eZaMU where nobigdyl. mentions this song in the context of his relationship w WHATUPRG. At the time I write this comment, this is the only song RG has with Parris since he became part of indie tribe. He's not part of it now anymore though obviously. RG joined indie tribe in November 2017, then they dropped "High Horse". The tribe, at that time, consisted of Jarry Manna, WHATUPRG, nobigdyl. and Mogli the Iceburg. As High Horse dropped, the tribe was kind of teasing that an indie tribe album would be coming soon. All indie tribe members were still independent. This is when some stuff changes up: In 2018, dyl got signed to Capitol Records and RG got signed to Reach. This happened in spring 2018. So in this song, when RG talks about the labels getting involved, this is what he means. He wanted to talk to dyl about multiple things, including the vision for indie tribe. Between 2017 to 2020 (April 2020 is when this song was released), all the indie tribe artists were doing features on each other's respective projects and singles. But there was never a full length collective indie tribe album. All the tribe artists had developing careers, so that meant that some of their own goals and visions clashed with being connected to the indie tribe collective. This is why Jarry Manna and RG left indie tribe. In summer 2020, shortly after this song was released, RG and Jarry Manna went on Twitter the same day and announced that they were no longer part of the tribe. According to the interview linked above, nobigdyl. originally was featured on this song as well as RG. Thankfully, all of the indie tribe artists seem to be on good terms right now after everybody split up and there are two new members.
