Tell me how you know this charger will fully-charge stock Bebop 2 Power LiHV battery packs?
@MALNTV6 жыл бұрын
Much the same as knowing my hobby chargers fully charge my Bugs and Hubsan batteries or that my DJI Spark charger properly charges 3 batteries at a time.
@LEGOofLittlehorn6 жыл бұрын
Fly Bar this charger cannot fully-charge LiHV Bebop 2 Power packs requiring balancing to 4.35 volts per cell. It can only fully-charge/balance LiPo to 4.20 volts per cell. If this charger is used to charge Power packs it will stop at 4.20vpc essentially turning a LiHV into a lower voltage shorter running LiPo battery.

@@LEGOofLittlehorn Thanks fir the information! Unfortunately I know longer own a Parrot B2. I fully switched to DJI some time ago. Thanks fir tuning in.
@MALNTV6 жыл бұрын
@@LEGOofLittlehorn had to re-read your comment. I never owned the Power Edition, just the standard BB2 withe the standard 2700mah batteries..although I did cheat and bought some GiFi's. But I traded it for a Spark and now also own the Air. If I can get a deal on a new and not refurbished BB2, I might consider it since I do like the Free Flight Pro app better than DJIs Go4.

Has this held up for you? Is the charger still working? Some of the Amazon reviews make me a little nervous.

Would this work for the power battery. I out power batteries on another balanced charger and the minute I took off it went from 100% to 80 instantly. I heard there is a different charger for power battery. Thankd
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
mike shevlin I’ve seen charging cables sold on eBay that you can use to power up the Bebop 2 batteries using a hobby grade charger. That is an option versus the DP2.

mike shevlin B2 and B2 power batteries are interchangeable. I regularly charge my GIFI 4000mah batteries on this unit. I believe the B2 power batteries are 3750?

hello Fly Bar... i just hit like button and subbed... what happened to the stock bebop 2 battery you were waiting for 'storaging'? the bottom greens did get equal with the rest? thanks!
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
garry1220able that Parrot battery is toast. I tested it again after doing this review. Once it reached 50% it quickly drains. Now I have to figure out how to properly dispose of it. However, to be honest, I rarely fly on Parrot batteries. My 2 batteries of choice have been my 4000mah GIFI’s for sometime. Whenever you see one of my flight videos or review videos, this is the batteries I’m flying.
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
garry1220able I take it you own the Bebop 2? If so, if you are interested in turning yours into a Power Edition lookalike, Parrot sells the black nose cone and black gimbal rubber dampeners and an inexpensive price.
@garry1220able7 жыл бұрын
yes, Fly Bar... i'm planning to get black nose and black rubber gimbal rubbers maybe next month... BTW, what's the age of your stock battery? and how much do you use them until they got toast? i just have for 5 months already and been flying my BB2 about 2 or 3 times a week... i'm just worried it might die sooner now... LOL
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
garry1220able I bought my Bebop last May or June as a refurbished item. So no idea what the age of the battery was when I received the drone. Toasting the battery was my own stupidity. Before buying the DP charger and before I fully comprehended you cannot fly lipos under 20%...well I did just that. One day I was trying to descend from 200ft with about 45% left and the indicator looked like a stopwatch running backwards. I almost didn’t make it down. At that point I realized I had a fried battery and soon after started studying anything I could find lipo related.

After the battery is at 50% for storage, do you just take it off the charger and leave it off?
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
Just be patient. The system with automatically shut down and will flash the word “End”. The storage process does take longer when discharging from a full battery vs. a battery that has already been discharged after a flight.

You made a coment on here that you should return your drone at 40%. Does that mean you should never fly at a lower percentage than that? You can't get over 20 minutes of flying time if you return it that early can you? I see lots of videos of people flying till they get the low batt warning. My new battery goes to just under 40% then drops to 0% within minutes. Do you think that is an indication of a bad cell?
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
gerald tardif really it’s the voltage. You can turn a LiPi into toast if you drain these down to far. Now FreeFlight Pro, unlike some of the other drone apps, doesn’t have a voltage meter, just % remaining power. When storing these batteries, balance chargers that have this mode will charge the battery to around 48% at 3.8v. For this reason, I generally land between 30-40%. I aim for 40% since Parrot and their wise engineers decided to not give us a micro sd slot and only...what is it? 7-8gb of memory? Ya...at 40% memory is pretty full, so the extra battery juice helps for transferring files.
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
...also extreme voltage drop is an indicator of a bad battery. I have two Parrot batteries...one I know is bad..and the other, I think is having issues. For this reason will never waste more money on a Parrot battery.

There is one I found on ebay that can charge 3 Batts at once and ballances for around 30$. Not sure if i want to take the chance on that one though. Love the convenience of yours. No cables.

Hello Folks, Just got my DP2 Balance Charger yesterday, Put my three Bebop 2 POWER batteries(3350mah) in storage mode.(I'm in Ohio) So far-so good. "Great how to video - by the way" !!. QUESTION - On the GIFI 4000mah battery can you use them on the Bebop 2 POWER Drone?. Plus any Info: from anybody - comparison to bebop 2 Power stock batteries, any problems, experiences etc. etc. on the GIFI 4000mah Battery I would appreciate. Thanks so much

jen33sen Fantastic..the only negative is you have to mess around with the buttons until it’ll kick into storage mode...would help if there was and actual manual. However, this is a really really good charger.

Thanks Fly Bar, Thanks for all the help with the DP2. Ya it is strange that theirs not much on how to precisely operate the buttons for the different modes, more experience will fix that. Yes the DP2 so far seems to be great. NOW FLY BAR tell me all you know about the following QUESTION - On the GiFi 4000mah battery can you use them on the Bebop 2 POWER Drone?. Plus any Info: from anybody - comparison to bebop 2 Power stock batteries, any problems, experiences etc. etc. on the GiFi 4000mah Battery I would appreciate it. If you don't know please find out then reply back to me, I'll keep looking to. you the man! Thanks again

jen33sen yes the GiFi battery for Bebop 2 fit perfectly and look like an exact match to the standard Parrot battery’s. In fact I flew twice today on a pair of GiFis and once on a Parrot. Shot a bunch of footage of forestry service lands, approx 100 acres harvested, then again on a friends property. Today was a wonderful day to fly and record. To be honest, not a whole lot of comparison videos out there...hmmm it’s time you do one for KZbin.

jen33sen one more thing. Once you start using this charger on a regular basis you will forever worry about charging your batteries with that Parrot charger. Keep me posted on your progress. Especially enjoy those GiFi batteries. GiFi’s will likely become your battery of choice.

Bob CT Thank you for the reply! BTW I subscribed to your channel. You will like the charger. You will be able to visually see the health of your three cells. An added bonus is you will be able to purchase GiFi 4000mah batteries and have confidence, much because of this balance charger, that they will perform well. GiFi’s are the only batteries I fly on thanks to his balance charger.
@bobct94557 жыл бұрын
Fly Bar You were reading my mind. I was looking at the Gifi 4000 mah battery on Amazon. Is this what you use? Does it still “snap” into the drone securely? Btw, subscribed to your channel too, keep up the good work. Amazon link: 4000mAh 11.1V Lipo Battery for Parrot Bebop 2 Drone www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYH8NY2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BsxwAbDG7HS3S
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
Bob CT absolutely! I didn’t buy mine from Amazon, I got mine from a supplier from eBay. You might get speedier shipping from Amazon. 40000mah! Plus they are soooo much cheaper than the stock ParrotBebop2’s. BUT 40000! Indeed..these are the ones I fly. Now...any lipo battery, no matter the manufacturer are finicky things, much is because of their chemical make up. Be certain to have your Bebop on the ground and shut down on 40%. You can destroy a lipo if under voltage if you drain it too far. Give the battery about a 15 minute rest period before re charge or storage.
@MALNTV7 жыл бұрын
Bob CT these snap in place and fit perfectly

I purchased this as well, and someone asked if the 3.5A is adjustable. I said no, they said " That's one of the same problems with the original stock charger. It stresses the cells using the maximum rate all of the time. It speeds up charge time..but includes a reduction in the battery's useful lifespan as it adds to internal resistance over time. Stock B2 packs will last longer and perform better with a 1C charge rate. 2700mAh...2.7A charge rate." I told him that Storage is 1.0A ("1"), and he said " That "1" for storage might be the discharge rate until it reduces the charge down to its storage voltage. 1A charging up to storage levels is a handicap. The fact that it may take a long time to charge is that it may have some trouble balancing properly and settling packs at 4.20v per cell to top-off each cell with the others. Some packs have problems that inhibit them from being perfectly balanced and chargers run on..trying." Thoughts?

Great! I would buy it. So far I am ok with my solution to use a balanced charger, but this requires soldering. For easy use without soldering this DP2 is great. I highly recommend to buy this if you want to have a longer lifetime of your batteries. Imho it is a big fail from Parrot to give us a crappy charger that will destroy the batteries.
