On the topic of picky birds: I introduced mine to pellets and he won' t eat them unless I hand feed him them, but it is clear he doesn't like them as much as seed, so we compromised. In the morning, I give him some pellets and once he finishes eating at least a few, I'll give him his daily serving of seed. Some days he'll cooperate, other days he screams at me, bites me, throws the pellets at me, and fly off! Makes the name lovebird pretty ironic. I WON'T GIVE UP, JOJO YOU WILL EAT HEALTHIER!

_Ash0litt_ what sort of bird is he..I hate pellets as well..I don’t know exactly what’s in them..I have a pair of lovebirds I found freezing and starving close to death at Xmas in a neighbours shed..so I used to make chop for our old macaw he loved his food we got him pellets once and he literally had a fit..my gran always did his food from her garden as he was 82 yrs there were no pellets when they got him as a wild chick grabbed from his nest no doubt..she sprouted beans and that sort of stuff..so when I had to refeed the lovebirds they were so bad I put them on chick formula with a high content of chick booster but after when they were able to eat normal again they wanted seed it’s all they ever knew..but seed is good as part of a balanced diet..if you sprout the seed it’s much better for them..I put very little seed in there chop now but they still eat everything I give them..mind they know how hungry hurts...our beautiful macaw coco died 2 years ago..in my family all his life and after 50 odd years clipped learned to free fly for the last 35 odd years of his life..epic bird..I’m looking for another since we lost him ..I missed chicks for sale last year , spoke to a few scammers along the way and found a great breeder around Xmas ..my chick hatched on my daughters 18th birthday..I go get him Tuesday..very exited..he has big shoes two fill..

Could you clarify why remove the bell pepper seeds? Apparently they are safe for birds

Are you from odisha?

That's like $40 worth of food in Hawaii and the birds won't touch. I will keep trying. I see the bigger chunks. I shall try it that way next!

So pretty much you just put everything (fruit and vegetable wise ofc) that your bird likes and put it in the freezer? (Chopped up to bite sized pieces ofc)

Your peeling important nutrients off. Leave the skin on for fiber and nutrients. Also taking the seeds out of the bell pepper is packed with protein. I do like how you use organic but I don’t agree with you picking your bird up by there wings, use your finger. Also the knife should not be near your bird. Thanks for your version of chop I add organic sprouted oats to mine to keep it dry.

Little Milla she’s not picking her up by the wings, she’s just grabbing her body. It doesn’t hurt them because they are so small.
