Hi. Ireland calling! Noticed the shelf was a tad sticky going on to the prongs. A little rub with a candle will fix that, make the shelf glide on with ease. It’s that finger that hits the confirm button that’s the problem 😂 I have that problem too when looking at model trains. Liked and subscribed!

Welcome aboard 😁 the main point of stickiness was it wasn’t on straight. Once it straightened up it was easier. I’ve also adjusted the bars down. A bit of wax will definitely help in the long run 👍

And yes, I now have an old Limby GWR railcar coming in the post lol. To feature in a video soon, but don’t tell anyone

The Market is Awash with Plenty of Preowned Stock at a Fraction of the Price of New, waiting to be Saved from the Grave and Ride the Rails Again. Many Business startups, are a result of a Passion for a Product, if the knowledge of that passion is removed or taken away, then it becomes Hollow and inevitably will crumble. I watch your progress with interest, liked &Scribed 👍🏻

Thank you very much. The advantage of some of the old stuff is a lot of spares are still out there and simple to do. James may demonstrated that nicely on telly. And of course it was built to be played with by kids not be a delicate model, which a lot of people seem to forget. There’s still a place for the more simple models

I use Triang-Hornby rolling stock on my Inglenook layout for similar reasons. I find the large D couplings can be made to work reliably with PECO uncoupling ramps and being metal can be tweaked if the height is a bit out of line.

I’ve actually just received some triang wagons to show in use, as long as they go through the points smoothly

Hattons closing? It's a strange one. Surprised it's not being sold as a going concern. Note their US online business is still in place?🤔🤔 Warley? I've friends who know the guys so I suspect I'll hear the SP. But the business model for many exhibitions is now failing, couple that with aging guys and gals? It's not easy being a demonstrator, layout owner nor event organiser when young, but as we age? It gets much harder. Plus SME traders are struggling to pay for a table, plus a van, plus fuel (some larger shows paid for B&B etc). Is the hobby dying? Not just yet, but the zenith was extended slightly by the PLANdemic - plus Hornby was saved by such imho. So it was a stay of execution? Only time will tell. Are we still waiting on the Thomas The Tank engine watchers to get here after they've had families, time on their hands? Remains to be seen. My dad and I have done our bit to encourage youngsters and budding engineers. Local model shops in the UK have been operating on thin margins - less than toy shops and less than the big box shifters - and sometimes onerous T&C's from bigger manufacturers. Also the business model being adopted by Hornby for TT120? If they're driving that market instead of reacting to it? Myopic! Multiplication/Multipliers via SME model shops will always be better, even with the slight offset of online direct shopping. In short I think it's all still to play for BUT it's on a knife edge and the zenith is now over after a stay of execution. One good thing, the PsyOp PLANdemic has taught some the value of hobbies and therapeutic endeavours. Looking forward to seeing your progress with the inglenook - always a charming format, I've a 7mm tuning fork layout 👍✌️💜😊

Worley is down to aging organisers and the cost of the NEC. I think it just got too big for itself. Still plenty of other shows for enthusiasts to go to

Think I'll follow this closely, need something to play with...
