Thanks for posting these! This video and a few others were the one I watched before I tackled this job. The suggestion was to place a piece of cardboard

Yeah some things you can’t go aftermarket ... a water pump or crucial parts should always be OEM.... good job pointing that out

Great video for the DIYer! Been thinking about doing a water pump & fan clutch preventive maintenance for my ‘05 F-350 6.0L. The OEM water pump has a plastic blade & I want to replace it with a aftermarket metal blade for reliability. Thanks for all you do making your videos!

I think it would be a good idea to get rid of the fan visco coupling and install electric fan. That will save some fuel, reduce bearing load in pulleys, the truck will be more quite in common. Not too much work to do, so why not?

Because an electric fan can fail whereas a mechanical cannot

Not that this helps you now but if you just put a big wrench on the fan nut and give it a few hard hits with a hammer. That is usually enough the break it free. Basically uses the whole Newtons 3rd law thing. Either way, nice job being creative!

If you bought a new water pump then I’ll assume you had intentions of putting it in. That being said why would you not remove coolant tank giving yourself more room to work. Also you talk to much. No one is really interested in your personal life. Only the method to remove fan pulley. Glad you at least got it loose
