1:03 Welcome to the Layer Cake. This intro, this dialogue, could not be produced at a more fitting time with the recent passing of Sir MIchael Gambon who starred in the movie, and had a corner named in his honor on the TG test track. This brilliance of this production is only outshined by the cars it features.

Loved this! The idea of putting on your driving gloves, strapping your wicker luggage to the boot and setting off to drive to the racetrack, race and then drive home again, is one of the most romantic in the motoring world. That's what I think these unicorn cars tap into.

Absolutely phenomenal, you truly hammered down how legendary the GT1 group was especially the clk gtr, f1 and 911 gt1

Great video James 👍 Looking forward to the rest of the series - nice work! p.s. Still extremely grateful the kind folk at DK Engineering gave me and my son a tour of your amazing premises a while back.

always the best, most interesting super-car videos there are. to the point, no drama, no theater, the cars presented here are simply enough. not a single video i didn't enjoy to the last second.

One day I want to be able to say "I've never driven THIS PARTICULAR F1 at at speed before..." There are very few people on Earth who can utter that sentence.

Fantastic Video!! We need more content like this. Also the teachers pet side of me most note for others that the mclaren F1 was not the first full carbon road car.

No but still a great job. James is the goat! The Bugatti EB110(unveiled September 15th 1991 in Grande Arche de la Défense) and the Jaguar XJR 15 / TWR (first car was delivered in Asia in November 15th 1991) were both full carbon tubs. Just a couple years before the F1(May 28th 1992 in Monaco).

Wonderful to link the opening music from Layer Cake - superb production and great parody perfectly in sync with the analogue nature of the halo cars

The induction noise is amazing. Agreed about the two M3 engines put together. Certainly, when listening to an M3, you do occasionally hear similar sounds to an F1. Been lucky enough to see one of these on the road once, heading to the Philip Island racing circuit in Victoria, Australia.

For everyday use, it's an easy McLaren for me. But for track day outing, I'm still not sure whether to pick the 911 or the CLK. But then again, CLK GTR Roadster does exist, so the CLK GTR without the roof will give more fun than the hardtop version.

Great video as usual James. You make the experience of driving and living with these “unicorn cars” (love the nickname) almost imaginable. Can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.

Sounds like some really nasty rattle or knock. Maybe just the mic but I do wonder whether sometimes you get in a car like that and there is a disappointing clunk or rattle you wouldn't expect for the price but would for the age

When I was born, the world was a far simpler place. It was all just... cops and robbers. Drugs. Changed. Everything. There were armed robbers locked up for ten years for robbing a bank of ten grand doing time next to drippy hippes serving twelve months for smuggling two million quids worth of puff. I mean, work it out, mate. We're in the wrong fucking game.

I hate the F1, with its Formula 1 pretensions, and its first, MAD CELEB owner, who isn't funny, at all. Money for old slapstick?
