The message in the upanyasam so relevant in today's times . We should have no oldage homes at least in our country.

Sometimes people really could not avoid old age homes in today's century. Not all children who send their elders to old folks home are bad. A good example would be one of my geriatric physician, a lecturer in my university. She comes from a family of four. Her mother passed away so it's herself, her brother and her octogenarian father only. She has a family of her own and her brother works offshore as he is a petroleum engineer. Her father has Alzheimer's and is unable to care for himself. He needs nursing care 24/7 and for working people it is very difficult to look after their parents by feeding, cleaning, clothing etc them on top of looking after their own children. My lecturer has her father placed in a very nice nursing home full time. (Nowadays, there are plenty of excellent retirement homes being built and it is actually even better to be there than to be at home as even medical care is available in such homes 24/7.) Her brother pays his nursing home fees while she visits him every single day to make sure that he is okay. She is a very kind lady. What is wrong is sending our elders to nursing home and abandoning them.

@58:25 - you make a point that we are not talking "Tamil" properly ("Tamizh"), but then intersperse your speech with part english words. "Basic TamizhE namakku konjam adi" as you say. It would be nice if you spoke in pure Tamizh without mixing English words.
