Michele Myankazt Question how to do multiple colors with it? :0
@michelemyankazt66578 жыл бұрын
You have to do a screen for each section with the same color; for example if his eyes and hat feather are both blue they would be on the same screen separate from everything else. I hope I am not confusing you. Good luck on your shirts, please send me a pic if you do one with multiple colors.

Yes simple is relative...but after years of teaching art, I gave up on all the work it takes to make screens, stretch, coat, expose and reclaim. Maybe this year my students will get the chance to experience the fun of screenprinting with these products. Thank you for a great tutorial...my students will definitely enjoy your video, too...as I did. Know anyone who wants a pile of old screens?

Does the blue mesh behind the emulsion paper come with it? If not, is it necessary to buy? Also, what did you use for the black exposure board? Is it anything special or can you use any black surface (or whatever color the ink is going to be)? Last thing, how much is a pack of transparency papers? Great video, thanks!

I finally understand how screenprinting works. With the emulsion dissolved, the fine screen holds the image and all its fine details in place, then when you squeegee on the ink, it seeps through the screen but not the solid parts. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thank you for the tutorial. Never done screen printing so it's interesting way to make own shirts. I used to do my illustrations similar way as you did the first part. I draw a picture in pencil, than outlined in ink pen or Sharpie, erase the pencil than scan it into computer and saved it in black and white picture document. Cleaned it up. Than saved it in multicolor and filled in color. It came out pretty good. Anyway....have you tried print on iron on paper and than use heated iron to transfer on shirt? I wonder how is it different than screen printing when it comes to quality?

Really nice clear video. It's easy for what you get and once you have familiarity with software, phone, ordering packages, etc. I don't see in general why vector graphic is necessary (or for that matter black print), but I have not done this before (just watched youtube vids). Vector graphics would help to avoid blocky/pixelly edges on pic if the resolution is a problem. Maybe it is (haven't done it so don't know). Black could be preferred to really block the UV light if for some reason light colors fail at this.

+Katie Marie There is nothing wrong with using images you find for your own use. The issue comes about when you try to sell shirts with images you do not own or have a license to use. I would make sure any image you chose, you understand what sort of copyright is attached, some are creative commons, some are fair use.
